Liu Xiulan used to be a worker in Meixian Tannery. In 1993, she was laid off when she was middle-aged. In order to make a living, she decided to start planting and raising. With 50,000 yuan borrowed from relatives, she contracted more than 100 mu of mountain land in Pankeng, Triangle Town, to plant trees and raise chickens. However, due to the lack of experience and technology in planting and breeding, Liu Xiulan's farm suffered losses year after year, especially the sudden bird flu epidemic in 2004, which made her farm suffer a loss of more than 100,000 yuan that year. Liu Xiulan once felt very uncertain about the future of the farm because she had lost so much money on the hard work of planting and breeding.

In the winter of 2006, when a relative of Liu Xiulan who worked at the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences learned about her situation, she bluntly pointed out that the failure of the farm was that the farmers were all "big-road goods", with poor market prospects and poor economic benefits. Only by developing characteristic livestock and poultry farming can there be a way out. This kind of pheasant is characterized by black feathers, black skin, black meat, black bones, black internal organs, and even chicken blood is black. It is a rare and rare chicken breed in the world, and has been listed as a "national key resource protection project" by the Ministry of Agriculture. Due to lack of experience, the first batch of more than 1200 eggs introduced by Liu Xiulan successfully hatched more than 300 chickens. fortunately, the black-feathered black meat pheasants had strong disease resistance, and most of them survived successfully. In order to improve the hatching rate, Liu Hsiu-lan looked everywhere for information and visited experts, and gradually increased the hatching rate to more than 90%. At present, Liu Xiulan's farm has more than 7000 black-feathered black pheasants, producing more than 200,000 green-shell eggs a year, and the market price of each green-shell egg is about 1.50 yuan, and the market response is good, and sales are in short supply.
