Walking into the white goose farm in Liangfeng Village, Lianfeng Township, Qinggang County, it is like coming to the Ecological Animal and Botanical Garden, with a water surface of more than 5000 square meters, weeping willows, poplars, and vast grasslands, where flocks of white geese swim and play. When it comes to white geese, Liu Lihua recalls the history of her struggle.

Liu Lihua, 35, has been farming in Liangfeng Village with her husband since she was laid off from a rural supply and marketing cooperative in 1998. However, because the village is close to the saline-alkali low-lying land, the income of planting industry is not high all the time. In 2002, the County Guan work Committee learned that she was a smart, studious, hardworking and capable young man, coordinated with relevant departments, helped Liu Lihua select a goose raising project based on rich aquatic resources, and mobilized the "five elders" to help her raise 5000 yuan. Liu Lihua embarked on the road of raising white geese by buying 1000 goose chicks. Due to the lack of breeding experience, the chicks were bought back within a few days, and more than 800 chicks died.

The first taste of failure did not frighten the ambitious Liu Lihua. In 2003, several "five elders" helped her with a loan of 20,000 yuan. She bought 2000 goose chicks, planted 10 mu of forage grass, bought books on raising geese, and often sought advice from epidemic prevention staff.

Where there's a will, there's a way. With scientific management and careful breeding, she succeeded, with a net income of more than 30,000 yuan that year. In 2004, with some economic foundation, she discussed with her husband and bought another 1000 mu of prairie and built a goose house on the prairie. In 2005, she gloriously attended the county animal husbandry industry promotion conference, and was rated as one of the top ten science and technology demonstration households. The county government also awarded her a TV set and books and periodicals to get rich in science and technology.

"when I'm rich, I can't forget the villagers. I want to help those sisters who are in need of help and put them on the road to prosperity, just like the working Committee of the people's Republic of China helped me." Liu Lihua said. Last year, she took the lead in establishing the Liangfeng Village White Goose breeding Association. Led by her, Liangfeng Village farmers recognized the project of white goose breeding. She provides free technical services for farmers and credits goose chicks to farmers with difficulties, promoting the development of big geese in Liangfeng Village, which has become a famous professional goose raising village in the county. Today, Liu Lihua is leading farmers to the bright road of raising white geese to become rich and well-off.
