Growth habits of Aloe vera

Aloe is the most evergreen, succulent plant with short stems, nearly clustered or slightly distichous leaves, thick and succulent, striped or lanceolate, pink-green, with several denticulate teeth at the top and sparsely spiny teeth at the edge. The scape of aloe is as high as 90 cm, unbranched or slightly branched, and racemes have dozens of flowers. Its bracts are nearly lanceolate, the apex is sharp, and the flowers are sparsely arranged, yellowish with erythema. Its stamens and perianth are nearly equal or slightly longer, and the style is obviously protruding from the perianth, yellow with red spots. Aloe likes loose soil with good drainage and should not be hardened. It is afraid of cold and likes light and heat resistance.

How often should aloe be watered?

1. It is not advisable to water aloe before turning green and taking root. The watering time is generally better in the early morning and evening, and the water temperature is close to the temperature of the potted soil. Keep in mind that potted aloe is better if it is dry rather than wet.

2. Aloe we know that it is a kind of plant with strong drought tolerance, but we should be careful not to be short of water for a long time. To achieve timely and reasonable watering, for example, watering once every 15 to 20 days, foliar spraying method can also be used. If the surface of the basin soil must be kept wet in summer and properly dry in winter, it is beneficial for the plant to survive the winter safely. In spring, as the temperature rises, when the temperature is 15-25 ℃, it is necessary to appropriately increase the number of watering, usually once every 5-7 days. In order to make the basin soil dry and wet, it is possible to make the basin soil dry and wet according to the principle of non-dry and wet.

3. We know that summer belongs to the season of high temperature, and the evaporation is also relatively large. It takes two to three days to water once, and we can spray water on the leaves of aloe vera every morning and evening, so that the leaves can be kept green. And to build a shade, so as to prevent the hot sun exposure, in order to reduce the loss of water in the pot soil and plants. The requirements of watering in autumn are similar to those in spring. The general requirement is not dry or wet, would rather less watering, do not make the basin soil in a long-term over-saturated state, otherwise it is easy to cause aloe root hypoxia and lead to plant death. Watering time can be chosen in the early morning and evening, because at this time the water temperature is close to the basin soil temperature, so as to avoid the large temperature difference and affect the root growth of aloe.

4, the water quality had better use Rain Water or river water, because tap water contains more chloride, if it is used for a long time, it will affect the growth of aloe. Some people irrigate with magnetized water, which can promote the root development of aloe plants, the aboveground parts also grow fast, and the leaves are green, if you are potted aloe lovers can try to have a look.
