In Qingtian Village, Fuwen Township, whenever Hu Yonggen is mentioned, many people will express admiration and admiration, saying that he is a man of courage. Because by contracting barren mountains to plant Phyllostachys pubescens, the Hu family began to embark on the road to prosperity.

Hu Yonggen lives near 06 Provincial Highway and Hangqian Expressway. The transportation is convenient. After the policy was opened, he learned how to make money by doing business. After graduating from high school, he traveled north and south, engaged in selling, working as a handyman and working as Baotou, and worked in a variety of tertiary industries for more than a decade. After getting married, Xiao Hu stopped going out for business with a son and a daughter. The money he had accumulated in his pocket did not go to the city to buy a house like some farmers did, nor did he spend as much money as some young people did. Instead, he was trying to figure out how to make the money more useful.

After repeated consideration, Hu Yonggen decided that the best choice is to invest money in development and entrepreneurship. According to the current market situation, he thinks that the development of Phyllostachys pubescens is a good way, one is stable, the other is low risk. He has made up his mind and put it into practice immediately. In 2001 and 2004, he transferred 200 mu of three barren mountains and sporadic bamboo orchards in Pingshan Forest Farm, Zhu Village and other villages of his township for a contract period of 50 years. Over the past few years, he has turned barren hills and sporadic bamboo gardens into patches of bamboo gardens, with an estimated annual income of more than 50,000 yuan by 2008.

Looking at the green Mao Bamboo Garden, Hu Yonggen's face showed a knowing smile, recalling the course of his own business, he has a deeper experience: "I rely on four things, policy, input, diligence and technology." In recent years, our county has issued preferential policies for the development of forestry and other development production in Kubian village. Hu Yonggen seized this opportunity and shared a subsidy of 40000 yuan. In addition, in order to support farmers to develop production and actively strive for project funds, the county immigration bureau gave a free subsidy of 80 yuan per mu to the 200mu base of Phyllostachys pubescens in the reservoir area, and Xiao Hu tasted the benefits of 16000 yuan. All these have greatly encouraged Hu Yonggen's enthusiasm in developing forestry and planting Phyllostachys pubescens. In order to prevent Phyllostachys pubescens from drought and theft, he also invested 20,000 yuan to build two reservoirs, temporary housing and warehouses.

People who have been to the bamboo base say that it is like an eco-tourism base. But who knows, for this 200 mu bamboo base, Xiao Hu spared no effort to get up in the morning and feel the dark, sweat and rain put his heart and soul into it. In order to cultivate the bamboo garden carefully, he weeds weeds twice a year, fertilizes twice, and prevents pests and diseases. He attaches great importance to careful management. Xiao Hu hasn't been farming for a long time and doesn't know how to grow bamboo. He says those who can do it are teachers, and ask if they don't understand. He subscribes to science and technology newspapers and periodicals every year, buys a lot of books and materials about bamboo cultivation techniques, and invites county forestry and township forest technicians to the scene for guidance. After several years of entrepreneurship, Hu Yonggen deeply realized that it is absolutely true to rely on science and technology to get rich.
