There is an ordinary farmer in Gaolouping Township, Wanshan Special Economic Zone. With his indomitable will and industrious hands, and relying on the adjustment of the rural industrial structure, he extricated himself from the poverty that has been in trouble for many years, and actively helped the farmers in this land to develop fisheries, take the road of common prosperity, and become recognized as "warm-hearted people" among the farmers in Wanshan Special Economic Zone.

This ordinary farmer is Liu Yuangui, Yelang Village, Gaolouping Dong Township, Wanshan Special Economic Zone. He is 55 years old and became a member of the Communist Party of China in April 2003.

Today, Liu Yuangui can be regarded as a veritable "fish culture king." Party members, cadres, the masses, and guests who come to eat "farm rice" all boast when they meet, and they all call him "Boss Liu." From an ordinary mountain farmer, he has become a new type of farmer engaged in three-dimensional and comprehensive development of fish farming, with an annual income of more than 100000 yuan and fixed assets of more than 300,000 yuan. Whenever someone asks him how much money he has earned, he always says meaningfully: "A total of 44,000: to borrow money for farming, to spend thousands of words; to explore ways of development; to go through thousands of hardships in order to establish a 'Yujiale' leisure center; in order to let more people rely on fish farming to shake off poverty and become rich, walk into thousands of families."

In 1981, Liu Yuangui contracted 15 mu of rice fields to grow grain. After intensive cultivation, in addition to leaving food rations for the whole family for a year, Liu Yuangui handed over more than 10,000 kilograms of rice to the state that year, and was rated as a "major grain seller" by Wanshan Special Zone and Tongren area respectively. Liu Yuangui, who has solved the problem of food and clothing, is not satisfied with the current situation. In 1985, he abandoned farmers and went out to do business and opened a powder restaurant in Shaoyang, Hunan Province. However, due to various reasons, he simply lost all his money and could not continue to support it. One day, he went to a local house as a guest, and the host's meal was cooked. After a while, he fished out some fish from the rice fields next to him to cook. At that time, Liu Yuangui thought: Hunan people can raise fish, why can't they raise fish? In this way, in 1986, Liu Yuangui returned to the hometown where he was born and raised him with regret of failure in business and confidence in trying to raise fish in rice fields, and began his extraordinary way of fish farming. At first, he invested 20, 000 yuan to change 2 mu of rice fields into fish ponds and 3 mu of rice fields as pilot fields for fish culture, and in the spring of the following year, he tentatively bought more than 8000 fish fry to put into them, but the problem in front of him was that more than 8000 fish mouths had to be eaten every day. Liu Yuangui said to me, "at that time, the economy was so difficult that I had no money to buy materials to feed fish, so I went to the toilets in Wanshan and Gaolouping Township to pick up feces, saving money, fertilizing the fields, and being able to feed fish. There was no way." This trick really worked. At that time, the income of fish culture alone reached more than 8000 yuan, and it was rated as an advanced individual by the Fisheries Bureau of Tongren Prefecture.

The success of the first trial made Liu Yuangui more confident in fish farming, and he decided to master the excellent aquaculture technology first. He has participated in fish culture training courses held by regions and special zones for many times, subscribed to professional magazines such as China Aquatic products for a long time, and purchased professional books on fish culture. a preliminary grasp of the PH value, oxygen content, rich and poor, fish culture water temperature, fish disease prevention and other culture techniques. In order to quickly integrate book knowledge into practice, he took the lead in developing three-dimensional aquaculture, building nearly seven mu of rice fields into eight standard fish ponds, such as parent fish ponds, spawning ponds, incubation ponds, adult fish ponds, and breeding ponds, and cultivated nearly 100,000 fish fry. Because it could not open the market by the original way of picking and selling, it lost nearly 20,000 yuan that year. In response, he posted his fry information on the news media such as Tongren Daily and Guizhou Daily, and became the first farmer in Wanshan Special Zone to advertise fish fry. Customers from other places, such as Tongren City, Yuping County, Xinzhuang County and Guiyang City, have come to order fish fry. "Kungfu is worth the effort of those who have set their minds to it." Liu Yuangui finally got lucky in fish farming. His income reached more than 60,000 yuan that year, and he was known as the "king of fish culture". At the same time, relying on the advantage of the mysterious "Yelang Valley rafting", he developed his hard-run fish farm into a garden-style "Yujiale" leisure center integrating fish farming, entertainment, fishing and training. Fish pond around the cultivation of many strange flowers and plants, colorful all the year round, he set up a shelf to raise chickens and ducks, grow melons and beans, a farm scene. He also invested 50,000 yuan to build a pavilion between Tangbian and the tourist highway to facilitate tourists' leisure. Swimming in the river, fishing by the pond and enjoying the scenery on the pavilion are full of interest. On weekends, party members and cadres in Tongren, Xinhuang, and other surrounding counties, cities, and Wanshan urban areas come in an endless stream to fish, travel, and eat "farm rice" guests, only eating "farm meal", with an annual income of about 10,000 yuan.

In educational activities, the important thinking of "three represents", the spirit of the 16th CPC National Congress, the specific requirements of advanced nature, and the construction of a new countryside have enabled him to have an in-depth understanding of the important connotation of the construction of a new countryside. In the face of the cause of an annual income of more than 100,000 yuan, he has always established the consciousness that fish culture bases should serve farmers, agricultural development and new rural construction. "it is better to teach a skill than to be rich with others" and "if one person is rich or not, everyone is really rich." In order to popularize aquaculture technology to thousands of households, combined with their own practical experience, regularly and irregularly give lectures to villagers, teach aquaculture techniques, and provide preferential treatment to provide high-quality fish fry, so that poor households can fundamentally shake off poverty and become rich. Over the past 15 years, he has gone to Guiyang, Zhenyuan, Yuping, Xinhuang and Wanshan Special Zone, taught fish farming skills more than 300 times, held 98 technical lectures, trained more than 1600 technical personnel, and supported more than 900000 fish fry of poor fish farmers in four townships and one town free of charge. The number of linked fish farmers has grown from more than 700to more than 1200, of which more than 350have achieved good economic benefits, got rid of poverty and become the "leading geese" to shake off poverty and become rich. The Regional Science and Technology Bureau confirmed that his fish farm was "Tongren Wanshan Aquaculture Science and Technology training Base", and Wanshan Science and Technology Association also regarded it as "Wanshan Fish Culture Base". He has been rated as an "excellent aquatic technical counselor" by the Special Administrative region Government and the Regional Fisheries Bureau. Wanshan Special Administrative region Government awarded him the honorable title of "getting rich expert" and "scientific and technological expert".
