Circular on the investigation of Farmers' Market in County, Township (Town)

The department in charge of commerce in each district and city:

In order to further improve the circulation infrastructure of agricultural products and speed up the construction of the rural circulation market system, our office plans to investigate and find out the situation of farmers' markets in counties and townships (towns) of the province. The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:

I. the object of investigation

The farmers' markets investigated in this survey refer to the county-level and township (town) farmers' markets registered by the administrative departments for industry and commerce (excluding vegetable markets in downtown areas), including indoor markets and open shed markets.

II. Contents of the investigation

1. Farmers' market name, county, township (town), market category, opening time, market nature, management unit, business area, number of stalls, number of operating households, annual transaction volume, etc. (see attached table for details).

2. The county, township (town) government's situation and supporting policies on the construction and upgrading of farmers' markets in the past three years (2007 Mel 2009).

3. The main problems in the process of construction (transformation) and operation of farmers' market.

4. Opinions and suggestions on the construction and upgrading of farmers' market.

III. Methods of investigation

Adopt the combination of form survey, field survey and discussion survey to grasp the true and reliable first-hand data and put forward practical suggestions.

IV. Job requirements

1. This survey has a tight time, heavy tasks and high requirements. The department in charge of commerce in each district and city should attach great importance to it, make overall arrangements, organize meticulously, guide and help the competent departments of commerce in the counties (cities and districts) under their jurisdiction to find out seriously and meticulously, and fully grasp the relevant situation of the farmers' markets in the counties and townships (towns) within the county. Accurately fill in the data and information and put forward relevant policies or measures.

2. The summary of the survey and the questionnaire should be submitted to the provincial department (Market Construction Office) both in writing and in electronic version before November 10.
