Canadian government will invest C $77.8 million in ethanol plants
The Canadian government said this week that it would invest C $77.75 million in an ethanol plant in Saskatchewan over the next seven years.
The Canadian Department of Natural Resources said the money was used for the Terra food fuel ethanol plant in Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan, as part of a federal biofuel program.
The Terra grain fuel ethanol plant has an annual production capacity of 150 million liters and the main raw material is wheat.
The Canadian government plans to invest C $1.5 billion over the next nine years through biofuel projects. The Government's Economic Action Project will also provide C $1 billion to the Clean Energy Fund and C $1 billion to the Green Infrastructure Fund to provide additional economic stimulus to promote the sustainable development of clean and efficient energy.
