At this time, the sugar beet harvest area is 765000 hectares, accounting for 93% of the total harvest area.

Earlier, the Federation of Russian Sugar Mills (Soyuzrossakhar) said it was estimated that Russia's sugar beet harvest would fall to 26 million tons in 2009-10 from 29 million tons last year, and sugar production would also fall to 3.05 million tons from 3.55 million tons last year.
