Hu Shiyao, 63, a native of Xiaoli Village in Jiangxia Zanglong Island, was once a well-known grain grower in this village. As the village is close to the urban area and there is less and less arable land, he always feels that it is "not enjoyable" to grow more than 20 mu of land, and dreams that one day he can grow hundreds of mu of land, so as to give full play to his specialty.

In March this year, Hu Shiyao, introduced by relatives, came to Qianshangdan Village, Jinniu Town, Daye City, and learned that most of the local villagers went out to work, the fields were almost abandoned, and the villagers intended to lease the land. In May this year, through the local village committee, he rented 450 mu of land from farmers at a rent of 150 yuan per mu, with a contract term of three years. Hu Shiyao's actions also received active support from his hometown Xiao Li Village. The village committee helped him apply for subsidies for agricultural machinery. He spent nearly 100000 yuan on two large plow boats, two ploughing machines and a walking tractor to grow grain in Daye.

He said that his contracted land in Daye can produce 380000 jin of grain this year, with a sales income of more than 300,000 yuan and a net profit of more than 100,000 yuan after deducting costs.
