In response to upstream and downstream reports that the egg shortage originated from the Malick vaccine failure, the Council of Agriculture held a press conference yesterday to refute that the vaccine efficacy is not 100%, 2-3% of the effect is reasonable; now (22) evening held a press conference again, admitted that there are indeed "many" Malick vaccine failure problems, breeding farm operators also appeared, admitted that 30% of the chicken vaccination failure in the year before last, estimated that about 500,000 laying hens were affected.

However, the Council of Agriculture still believes that the main cause of the egg shortage is the death of 1.3 million chickens caused by floods last year. However, yesterday, the Council of Agriculture originally announced that 500,000 laying hens died in last year's flood. Huang Jincheng, vice chairman of the Council of Agriculture, changed his words today and said,"It was only after careful examination of the data this morning that it was actually 1.3 million laying hens." If there is such a big discrepancy in the data on how many laying hens were drowned in the flood, it is really difficult for people to trust the ability of the Council of Agriculture to control the production and epidemic situation of laying hens.

The Council of Agriculture has repeatedly reiterated that there is no sign of a large number of deaths due to vaccine problems from the chemical control curve of the dead chickens. But if even the deaths of several chickens due to flooding have only been confirmed today, how can we ensure that the chemical control statistics are true?

Egg Farmers Approval: Council of Agriculture Imports Suppress Livelihood

Domestic egg sales are dominated by the mode of "egg merchant collecting eggs from pasture", and there are also self-owned channel merchants purchasing or self-created brands. Rising egg prices have caused two kinds of situations: consumption place and production place. Egg import policy has caused dissatisfaction among some egg farmers. They bluntly say that Malik incident and 823 flooding have caused heavy losses to egg farmers. After a year of hardship, farmers have the opportunity to make up for previous losses when they encounter high egg prices. However, the government announced the opening of imports at this time, and a large number of agricultural committees intervened in the market and suppressed the livelihood of egg farmers.

An egg farmer in Pingtung believes that the government ignores the problem of "out of package" of breeding farms and only asks egg farmers to supply eggs as much as possible."We are not a manufacturer, we can desperately produce eggs!" It takes time to connect, but we shouldn't open up imports immediately." Egg farmers from Kaohsiung also lamented that the main reason for the "egg shortage" was that chickens died and farmers had no chickens to lay eggs at all. They pointed out that in the past, the daily output of eggs could reach 140,000 boxes, but after the "Malik incident", the daily output in the past six months was maintained at about 95,000 boxes. Coupled with subsequent flooding, epidemic diseases and abnormal weather, the egg shortage continued to expand.

Hidden behind the high egg prices are egg farms that are out of the bag, flooded chicken farms, and a series of factors that affect the egg production rate. Even today, many egg farmers still report that the egg production efficiency in the farm is only 60% or 70%. The egg shortage situation in China has not been solved. It takes time for layers and egg farmers to return to the peak production line, and every egg is always difficult to obtain.

(Exclusive) Egg shortage truth! For the first time in China, there is a problem with the vaccine in breeding farms. Millions of chickens die suddenly. The Bureau of Prevention and Inspection has no control over it.
