Ukraine grain harvest reached 46.63 million tons by November 12
Ukraine farmers had harvested 46.63 million tons of grain as of November 12, according to a report released by the Ukraine Ministry of Agriculture over the weekend, covering 15.2 million hectares, or 98 percent of the total area.
Among them, the corn harvest yield was 8.88 million tons, and the harvested area was 1.77 million hectares, accounting for 84% of the total area, with an average yield of 5.01 tons/hectare.
The Agriculture Ministry had earlier forecast Ukraine grain output of 45 million tons this year, down from 53.3 million tons a year earlier.
Ukraine's grain output could reach 47 million tons in 2009/10, including 10 million tons of corn, according to the Ukraine Agricultural Association.
