USDA predicts soybean yield in Ohio is expected to reach an all-time high
According to the USDA, the soybean yield in Ohio is expected to reach an all-time high of 48 bushels per acre this year. By contrast, the previous record was 47 bushels in 2007, 2006 and 2004.
The USDA expects Ohio to produce 219.8 million bushels of soybeans this year, an all-time high and a 36 per cent increase over the previous year.
At present, the soybean harvest in Ohio has caught up with the average progress, but the corn harvest still lags behind.
As of November 8, Ohio's corn harvest was only 37% complete, compared with 81% a year earlier and a five-year average of 75%.
