Crop harvesting in Manitoba, Canada is expected to accelerate
According to the latest weekly report released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Manitoba, the weather in Manitoba's agricultural production areas is ideal, so farmers in some areas have already completed harvest work.
The weekly report shows that soybean harvesting in eastern central Manitoba has largely ended. The improved weather led to a significant drop in soil moisture, easing farmers 'concerns about storage and dryness.
Soybean yields were average or above average.
In the central region, there are still some edible beans that have not been harvested.
Sunflower seed harvesting has begun in Manitoba. In the east, sunflower harvesting was 70 per cent complete and yields ranged from well below average to average. Soybean yield quality varies.
Corn harvesting continues in the eastern and central regions, although moisture content is high, at around 20 to 30 per cent.
