According to the latest report released by the United States Department of Agriculture, the global wheat consumption data for 2009 Universe increased slightly by 200000 tons, while the feed consumption data increased by 1.3 million tons.

However, Australia's wheat inventory data fell by 1.7 million tons, due to a reduction in the opening inventory data. The Moroccan wheat inventory data at the end of the year was reduced by 600000 tons due to a decline in the opening inventory data and an increase in feed consumption.

The global stock-to-consumption ratio of wheat at the end of 2009 was raised to more than 29%, the highest level since 2001.
