The wholesale price of eggs has dropped by about 4.43% recently.

The reporter learned from the Beijing Xinfa market yesterday that egg prices have shown a steady downward trend recently.

According to the statistics of Xinfadi market, the average wholesale price of eggs was 172.5 yuan per box on Sept. 26, a decrease of about 4.43% compared with the beginning of the month. The highest price of eggs this month is on September 13th, with the average wholesale price at 182.5 yuan per case. In mid-late September, egg prices have ups and downs, but the overall trend is to fall.

Market analysts pointed out that the recent decline in egg prices is mainly due to the decrease in the demand for raw material eggs from moon cakes and pastry manufacturers after the Mid-Autumn Festival, the increase in the supply of eggs in the market, and the gradual cooler weather since the beginning of autumn, resulting in an increase in egg production, a marked increase in egg market supply, and a drop in egg prices.
