The individuals of the artificially cultured ricefield eel are fat and bright. As a result of feeding more earthworms, maggots, wild fish and other natural bait, eel meat taste more delicious, more nutritious.

Monopterus albus culture has become popular in today's culture, according to relevant information, the current domestic market annual demand of nearly 3 million tons, is 60 times the turtle market, Japan, South Korea needs to import 200,000 tons per year, Hong Kong and Macao demand is also growing trend. Wild ricefield eel resources have been destroyed in many areas except Sichuan, Hunan and Hubei. It is predicted that they will gradually disappear in 4~5 years. The increase of demand and the decrease of resources make the market supply of rice field eel increasingly tight, and the price rises steadily. In winter and spring, the daily gap between supply and demand in coastal cities is more than 100 tons, and the wholesale price of eel weighing more than 100 grams is 60~70 yuan per kilogram, 40~50 yuan for more than 50 grams and 20~30 yuan for less than 50 grams. The high market price brings huge profit space for eel breeding. We only adopt the way of small pond close cultivation to estimate the economic benefit of eel cultivation.

I. Purchase wild eel for temporary breeding. It has high economic benefit to develop ricefield eel culture by adopting ecological "small pond close culture" technology of mass culture company. We take a 10 square meter pond as an example to estimate the economic benefits of eel farming:

1. The cost of building a pool is 200 yuan;

2. To purchase 20kg wild eel, the cost is 300 yuan, which is calculated as 15 yuan per kilogram of eel in summer medium specification (30- 50g);

3. After 5-8 months of feeding, the weight of eel can increase by 3-5 times. If we calculate by 3 times of weight increase, 20 kg of eel can gain 60 kg. If the feed cost of 1 kg of eel is 8 yuan (in fact, it is not so much to use a large number of flies and earthworms), it will cost 480 yuan.

Drugs and other expenses are $100. The total cost of the above four items is 1080 yuan. The rice field eel obtained is 80kg in large size (weighing more than 100g). According to the medium price of buying large size rice field eel in winter and spring market (40 yuan per kg), the income can be 3200 yuan, and the input-output ratio is 1:2. Specifically, a breeding pond of 10 square meters can create profits of more than 2000 yuan (200 yuan per square meter) within a few months of breeding period. An ordinary farmer can earn more than 100,000 yuan by building 50 breeding ponds.

2. Introduce improved rice field eel for self-propagation and autotrophy. According to our experience, 1 kg of introduced eel can naturally reproduce 3000~5000 seedlings. Based on the actual cultivation of 3000 live fish, each fish raised to 100 grams, can produce large-scale commercial eel 300 kg, according to 40 yuan/kg, can create income of 12000 yuan. The investment only requires:

1. The introduction fee is 160 yuan,

2. The breeding pond is 5 square meters. The pond construction fee is 100 yuan.

3. Feed cost 2000 yuan (feed cost for breeding maggots, earthworms and adding some fish feed with animal waste can be greatly reduced), standard cement pool construction cost of 4,50 square meters is 1000 yuan,

5. Other expenses such as medicines are 200 yuan. The above five items cost a total of 3460 yuan. a net profit of $8540 will be made. The culture pond can be used for more than 20 years, and the benefit of continuing culture will be higher. If the local and own conditions permit, the benefits of moderate scale development are better.

Who says it's hard to breed eel? My company's annual breeding eel seedlings amount to 30-50 million, if all raised to 100 grams/tail for commercial listing, you can produce commercial eel 30-50 tons.

Experienced farmers adopt natural reproduction to produce eel seedlings, which can meet the needs of their own commodity production.
