Dwarfing technique of potted flowers and trees
In the process of potted flower cultivation, if it is not pruned and allowed to develop, it will grow branches and leaves and reduce the ornamental effect.
1. Topping: for potted flowers with strong sprouting ability, when the trunk grows to a certain height, it can be topped to promote the lateral branch germination, and when the lateral branch grows to a certain length, the trunk can be dwarfed. For example, topping the trunk and main branches of oleander can cultivate a relatively dwarfed plump plant shape with "three branches and nine tops".
2. Curved stem: the flowers and trees with soft and flexible branches can be artificially curled when they grow to the required height, which can make the plant shorter and cultivate spiral flowers and trees. If poinsettia is bent to make it spiral from left to right, the branches can dwarf and grow with graceful posture.
3. Pruning: flowers and trees such as yellow poplar and Haitong are constantly pruned from young plants to promote their multiple branches and can be trimmed into a circular shape; figs can also be topped and trimmed to form a shorter round shape, which can not only dwarf the branches, but also make the trees graceful and plump; modern rose can also achieve the purpose of dwarfing and multi-flowering by pruning in time after each flowering.
4. Girdling: the flowers and trees that are easy to take root, such as grape and bergamot, are peeled in a ring after setting fruit, and then the nutrient film of the matrix is installed on the ring peel and tied up, so that the substrate is often moist and can take root in 2-3 months. at this time, the mother plant is cut off and cultivated separately, that is, it develops into a new dwarf plant.
5. Chemical control: foliar spraying with paclobutrazol, Zhuangfengan, Zhuangzhuangzhuangxue and mepiramine at a certain concentration can make the flowers and trees sturdy, and achieve the effect of dwarfing and luxuriant leaves.
