Last Updated: 2024/11/06, The price of meat, eggs and vegetables fell during the National Day in most parts of China.

During the National Day, the prices of finished grain, oil, eggs, pork and other agricultural and sideline products are abundant and stable, and the prices of meat, eggs and vegetables have declined in most areas, according to the National News Network of China Voice.

According to the systematic monitoring of the national price market of agricultural and sideline products and agricultural materials, the supply of major agricultural and sideline products throughout the country has continued to increase during the National Day holiday, and the prices of basic agricultural and sideline products such as oil, grain, meat and eggs tend to be stable. Prices of pure peanut oil and soybean oil have stabilized after rising more than 20% since August. Guo Aimin, a researcher in the national agricultural and sideline products and agricultural material price market system, analyzed that it is unlikely that grain and oil prices will rise significantly again.

Guo Aimin: during the National Day holiday, people usually arrange more trips, so the demand for agricultural and sideline products is smaller than that of some traditional festivals, such as the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Spring Festival.

As the demand for pork decreases after the Mid-Autumn Festival, supply increases and prices fall, Liu Tong, a researcher at the Beijing Xinfadi Agricultural products Wholesale Market Statistics Department, said in combination with the statistical data:

Liu Tong: our current price of pork is 11.5 yuan per jin, which is a white pig. At the highest time, we reached 12.35 yuan, which was before the Mid-Autumn Festival. However, before the National Day, the price dropped by more than 8 cents a catty, and the drop was quite obvious.

During the festival, domestic egg prices also began to fall. Monitoring data show that the number of provinces, autonomous regions and cities with prices below 5 yuan per jin has increased from 2 during the Mid-Autumn Festival to 8.

Guo Aimin: we saw in some farmers' markets that some time ago, all the eggs were relatively large, and they were all laid by old chickens. Now most of the eggs are sold in small and medium sizes, which proves that the chickens with the new supplementary fence have also entered the peak period of laying eggs. According to the data we monitor, the price of eggs is indeed falling after the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The price of eggs at the Xinfadi Wholesale Market in Beijing also confirms this figure.

Liu Tong: the price of eggs is much lower than that of some time ago. Our highest price, before the Mid-Autumn Festival, our wholesale price reached 5.60 yuan, now it is 4.24 yuan, a drop of 80 cents per jin, indicating that the supply of eggs is relatively adequate.

Since the beginning of autumn, leafy vegetables have grown rapidly, and the market supply has increased significantly. coupled with the fact that various localities have taken various measures to actively stabilize prices before the National Day, vegetable prices have fallen steadily throughout the country, especially in Beijing.

Liu Tong: now the price of celery is relatively low, and the prices of pakchoi, rape, spinach and parsley that people often eat are relatively low. The price of parsley is 1 yuan, small rape is 34 cents, small spinach is less than 1 yuan, some time ago to 2.5 yuan, 3 yuan, the price drop is relatively large. In addition, there are several kinds of dishes that are difficult to sell. Such as onions and potatoes, the prices are relatively low. For example, yam had to be sold for 5.06 yuan per jin at this time last year, but now it is only more than 1 yuan, and the price has also dropped by a large margin.
