Using the existing orchard to raise toads can be said to kill many birds with one stone, which can give full play to the three-dimensional interuse of animal and plant ecological space and reuse the spare ground between fruit forests, so as to improve land utilization. Toads can eliminate fruit forest pests and produce precious medicines such as Bufo bufonis, Bufo bufo garments and first-class bionic toad meat. At the same time, high-quality fruit is produced because of the light harm of insect pests. The cost of raising toads in the orchard is low. Because of simple facilities, convenient management, less workload and high efficiency, the economic benefit per unit area can be increased by about 80%.

All parts of our country where there are wild toads can raise toads in orchards. There are 15 varieties of toads in China, which are distributed all over the country. These toads have the advantage of artificial breeding. Larger varieties can be selected in orchards, such as Chinese big toad, black-orbital toad, flower-backed toad and so on. These varieties produce a lot of toad venom and toad clothing, and have high meat production and high utilization rate.

Because these varieties have a strong body, high meat content, large retroauricular glands and skin glands (warts), more crisp, thick skin and more clothes. These varieties are native to East China, Central China, North China and South China. Toad and toad clothing are used in clinic by the medical profession, but in recent years, due to the change of ecological environment, the products are decreasing day by day, and the price is rising constantly, which has become a tight traditional Chinese medicine. In many areas of our country, people have the habit of eating toad meat like frog meat. Only Shanghai, Guangzhou, Jiaxing and other cities list tens of thousands of tons every year, and the market demand is still increasing.

When raising toads in the orchard, you can hang a few black lights (fluorescent lights) in the garden to lure forest pests, such as mosquitoes, flies, moths and beetles, to rush to the edge of the lamp at night, so that the toad can crawl to hunt. For example, some soil manure, barnyard manure, rice straw and straw are piled under the tree, allowing them to breed earthworms, maggots and other small insects, which can make up for the fact that when insects in the air are not attracted in overcast and rainy weather, toads can choose to eat earthworms by turning over compost manually. This can not only solve the food source of toads, but also eliminate and reduce orchard pests, apply less pesticides to fruit forests, increase soil fertility, improve fruit quality and yield, and improve economic benefits.

Raising toads in the orchard has simple facilities and low cost. As long as a small piece of bamboo is used as a support around the orchard, and the support is surrounded by a 60-70cm high plastic film as an anti-escape wall, it can also prevent snakes outside the wall from invading the garden and harming the toad. If there are conditions, an anti-snake net can also be used to prevent toads from escaping, and to catch snakes in the garden without death, and then release them back to nature. Generally, there are 300 toads and 500 toads per 667 square meters. There is no need to build tall walls around the orchard. The walls are high, but they block out the lights and cannot lure insects outside.

The demand for medicine and people's food is increasing year by year, but the toad as a wild animal is decreasing sharply. It is the inevitable and final scientific means not to catch wild toad and to use artificial breeding to make up for the demand.
