Ganyu: developing living Forest Industry to increase Agricultural income

The economy under the forest is a new thing and emerging economic model of the current economic development. Ganyu County strives to develop the economy under the forest, insists on the diversified direction of "ecological, organic, green, brand", and taps the potential in the comprehensive management under the forest, green fruit base, follow-up industrial construction and so on.

The county government regards the development of under-forest economy as the top priority of rural economic development, and insists on scientific planning and overall arrangement in accordance with the "four high" requirements of high realm, high standard, high efficiency and high benefit. Ganyu County's under-forest economy has become a new bright spot for rural economic development and farmers' income increase. In accordance with the working thinking of "relying on resources to play the green card, taking the characteristic road of multi-industry at the same time, and interacting up and down to get rich," we should firmly grasp the development of resources under the forest and increase the income of farmers in order to achieve three combinations: first, the short-term planning should be combined with the traditional aquaculture industry to vigorously develop projects with low investment and quick results, such as planting forage grass, raising pheasants, ducks and geese under the forest. The second is to combine the medium-term planning with the characteristic planting industry, focus on the development of characteristic planting under the forest, and promote the cultivation of mushrooms, black fungus and other fungi throughout the county, so as to form economies of scale. The third is to combine long-term planning with the utilization and development of forest resources, manage trees well and restore forest vegetation to the maximum extent, so that green brands can produce maximum economic and ecological benefits.

At present, the county has planted more than 3500 mu of forage grass under the forest; under the forest has cultivated an area of 11000 mu, raising 7.5 million white geese and 5500 pheasants; more than 6200 mu of mushrooms have been planted under the forest; more than 60 forests and ecological farmhouses have been established in Jinshan, Lizhuang, Heilin and other five towns. Through the active participation of enterprises, the county has formed an industrialization development model of "cooperatives + enterprises + bases + farmers", which has laid the foundation for the healthy and rapid development of the county's under-forest economy. In the first half of 2011, the county's under-forest economy achieved an industrial and agricultural output value of 180 million yuan.
