In recent years, wild boars, pheasants, partridges, meat dogs and other special breeds have come into the rural areas of our country, showing certain economic benefits to a certain extent, bringing a lot of benefits to farmers. However, in the face of the increasingly lively special aquaculture industry, we should also think calmly.

The particularity of special aquaculture market determines that it can only be a supplement to conventional aquaculture. In the whole animal husbandry, special aquaculture is in a relatively secondary position. However, there is a common misunderstanding among farmers, that is, special farming is a shortcut for families to get rich quickly, coupled with excessive hype in some media, farmers who are eager to get rich are easy to "go astray", and a new variety is often introduced blindly, ignoring the timely replenishment of professional knowledge and technology. There are also many farmers using inbreeding to expand the scale, resulting in the degradation of varieties. Not long ago, the author interviewed several farmers who had raised minks and ostriches in Laohu Town, Dongping County, Shandong Province, and personally experienced the "ups and downs" of special breeding. They said that at the beginning of special breeding, because the information was blocked and the market forecast could not be realized, the technology was not in place, and the risk was often great, and sometimes it was not as fast as raising chickens and ducks. Since the 1990s, many farmers have lost money on special breeding projects such as nutria, white snail, black ant, Jinding duck and snail.

On the other hand, with the deepening of the adjustment of agricultural industrial structure and the further opening up of China to the international market, special aquaculture will have more and more "money". Then, as a channel to increase farmers' income, apart from caution, what other problems should we pay attention to? The suggestion put forward by people in the industry is: to engage in special breeding, we must first look at the market. "New, strange and special" is originally the three major advantages of special farming, but since the sudden outbreak of SARS in 2003, the fluctuation of special breeding market is obvious, and "new, strange and special" has become a stumbling block. Consumers'"nausea" to wild animals has greatly "shrunk" the market demand. At this time, there is a greater need for farmers to have market risk awareness and appropriately expand or reduce the scale of breeding. Or change the breed to accurately grasp the "pulse" of the market.

The development of special aquaculture has always been a promising project to enrich the people. How to avoid risks and avoid the "reef" is the key that farmers need to pay special attention to. In view of the present situation of the development of special aquaculture, the author believes that for the development of special aquaculture industry, the government must strengthen coordination in the future and strive to unite the whole industry and set up trade associations. guide farmers to take the road of integration of production, addition and marketing, so that the industry can develop more healthily and sustainably.
