In 2012, the achievement transfer industrialization project of Vietnam hybrid rice new variety "Shuxing No.6" of Shuxing Seed Industry successfully passed the evaluation of provincial expert group and was listed as the scientific and technological achievement transformation project of Sichuan Province, becoming the only agricultural scientific and technological achievement transformation project with crops as the carrier among 19 provincial scientific and technological achievement transformation projects in our city, and also the only agricultural planting scientific and technological project with international cooperation.

"As a result, this variety is not suitable for planting in Sichuan at all."

Since it is not suitable for planting in Sichuan area, does it mean the failure of new variety breeding? "At that time, we thought that the competition between domestic seed companies was so fierce, and Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, the main rice producing area, lacked good hybrid rice varieties, forcing us to shift the direction of rice breeding abroad." Thanks to the consideration of domestic and international hybrid rice seed production environment, Shuxing Company changed the seed production direction of hybrid rice.

Subsequently, the scientific research team of Shuxing Company carefully analyzed the characteristics of "Shuxing No.6" and found that "Shuxing No.6" is very suitable for the climatic conditions of Vietnam. In 2003, Shuxing Company will select Ninh Binh Province, Vietnam, 300 kilometers away from the Sino-Vietnamese border for the first trial breeding site."After one season of trial planting in the local area, the experimental effect is very satisfactory, which completely verifies our original speculation."

The success of the first trial has inspired greater enthusiasm from the scientific research team of Shuxing Company. In 2009, Shuxing Company successively sent two batches of technicians to Vietnam to carry out trial planting experiments on "Shuxing No.6", creating the highest yield record of hybrid rice for three consecutive seasons, among which the highest yield even reached 13.6 tons/hectare."Because extensive field planting mode was adopted at that time, if intensive cultivation mode was adopted, rice yield would probably reach one ton per mu."

After the great success of the trial planting of "Shu Xing 6", it quickly caused great repercussions in Vietnamese society. At that time, it once accounted for 90% of the hybrid rice planting area in Ninh Binh Province of Vietnam, and was promoted as a hybrid rice promotion project in Ninh Binh Province."Because it has good comprehensive resistance, high yield and good rice quality, it is promoted as a key variety." Luo Yunfei excitedly told reporters that at present, there is no second hybrid rice variety in Vietnam that can surpass the influence of "Shu Xing No.6".

In order to further innovate hybrid rice seed production technology and cultivate new hybrid rice varieties with better quality, Shuxing Company has realized "strong cooperation" with Rice Institute of Sichuan Province Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Guizhou Province Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Wuhan University; meanwhile, Shuxing Company has signed cooperation agreements with National Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Vietnam, National Rice Research Center and Ocean Province.
