Farmers have no choice but to burn chicken seedlings, the model of "enterprise farmers" is questioned, and integrated farming is respected.

The "fast-growing chicken" exposed by CCTV is like a grenade in the white-feathered chicken industry, blowing off chicken feathers.

The reporter learned that the seedling price of Shandong Baiyu chicken was 2.15 yuan-3.2 yuan on the 17th. After CCTV reported "fast-growing chicken" that night, the price fell the next day, falling to between 0.2 yuan and 0.6 yuan yesterday, a drop of more than 80%. Not only in Shandong, but also the haze of "fast-growing chickens" is rapidly spreading across the country. The price of Hubei chicken seedlings has plummeted by 70%, and sales of other chicken breeds have also declined as a result of the impact.

Some people in the industry have pointed out that in this storm, the root of the problem lies in the monitoring deficiency of the breeding model of "company farmers", and enterprises should vigorously develop "integrated" farming from the field to the dining table. However, experts believe that enterprises cannot be left to support themselves as soon as something goes wrong, and China's current productivity is not up to this level.

The price of chicken seedlings has fallen sharply under the impact of the industry.

"Nobody dares to enter the chicken seedlings now, and no one knows how long the impact will last." Liu Jingyu (a pseudonym), an employee of a large animal husbandry group in Hubei, told our reporter that chicken seedlings were unsalable and the price dropped from 3 yuan before the 17th to 0.9 yuan yesterday, a sharp drop of 70%.

Liu Jingyu pessimistically predicts that the price of chicken seedlings will continue to fall in the future, because the price of chicken seedlings in Shandong, a major province of white feather chicken farming, fell to between 0.2 and 0.6 yuan each yesterday. "A chicken seedling is shipped from Shandong, and the freight cost is only 2-3 cents. If Shandong sells it so cheaply, who will choose local chicken seedlings?" Because the chicken seedlings must be sent to the farm to feed within 48 hours of hatching, Liu Jingyu revealed that the chicken seedlings could not be sold, and some breeder farmers had no choice but to burn the newly hatched chicken seedlings.

Not only the white feather chicken industry, the entire chicken industry has been affected. According to the chicken vendor at Guangbutun vegetable Farm, business has obviously not been as good as the same period last year. A staff member of the broiler sales department of Wuhan Wen's Livestock and Poultry Co., Ltd. revealed that they mainly sold Guangxi black chickens, black chickens and other breeds, and the sales volume dropped to 10,000 per day from 30,000 per day a few days ago.

"from chicken seedling sales and chicken prices to market sales and consumer confidence, they have all been hit." However, Liu Jingyu believes that for the white feather chicken industry, this is not entirely a bad thing. "this time, many small and lax enterprises will certainly be eliminated, which is conducive to the restructuring and upgrading of the industrial chain."

Does the model of "farmers and farmers" have shortcomings?

Some people in the industry believe that the fundamental reason for getting the white feather chicken industry into trouble is that the current "company peasant household" farming model is out of control. According to Liu Jingyu, there are five unified farming models for "company farmers" in Hubei. "Enterprises provide unified chicken seedlings, medicine, feed, and technical services to farmers, and after the chickens are raised to a certain specification, they will be recycled at a uniform price." The advantage of this model is that it can quickly enlarge the scale and increase the output in a short period of time at low cost through a large number of small-scale farmers. The deficiency lies in the difficulty of regulation.

According to CCTV, some chicken farms in Xiaoqijiazhuang, Gaomi and Yuanjiazhuang in Pingdu used drugs illegally, and then sold the chickens to the slaughterhouse of Liuhe Company in Cuijiaji Town, Pingdu City. The problem this time is precisely caused by the illegal use of drugs by upstream farmers, and Liuhe Group has not implemented the supervision and testing in place.

The reporter learned that chickens raised in this model occupy a dominant position on the dining table of Wuhan citizens. Mr. Yi, the person in charge of Nanhu Hongqi raw poultry wholesale market, said that 80% of the chickens sold in the city come from Guangdong Wen's Group. According to his estimate, there are four wholesale markets in Wuhan that are similar in size to Hongqi's raw poultry wholesale market. Wen's chickens account for more than 50% of these markets.

And farmers also like this culture model. Mr. Xie, a Jiangxia farmer, has cooperated with Guangdong Wen's Group for 6 years. He said that the cost of raising 10,000 chickens amounts to more than 200,000, but if you cooperate with Wen, you only need to pay a deposit of 30,000 yuan, and the Wen Group is responsible for feed, breeding, medicine, sales, and so on. When the market is good, a chicken can earn about 2 yuan. "there are 500 to 600 chicken farmers in Jiangxia, of which 400 to 500 are in cooperation with Wen's Group."

Is the integrated industrial chain model the way out?
