Zhejiang online, February 27-Wang Yulong, postdoctoral fellow of Tsinghua University, director of Nanhu Green Livestock and Poultry Research Center of Zhejiang Tsinghua Yangtze River Delta Research Institute, and chairman of Jiaxing Wangyulong Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., participated in the research and development of new biological drugs at the forefront of the world in his early years. "Doctor raising pigs" attracted different opinions at first, but he led the team through years of efforts and finally made a major scientific breakthrough in the field of green farming.

As a pig breeding base in Zhejiang, Jiaxing produces more than 6 million pigs a year, but most of them are traditional breeding. In order to accelerate the growth of livestock and poultry and prevent diseases, many feed dealers and farmers add a large number of antibiotics and heavy metals to the feed, resulting in a large number of residues in livestock and poultry. On the other hand, the feces and urine produced by pigs bring serious water environment pollution. Most of the aquaculture wastewater is discharged in the form of biogas slurry after biogas fermentation, and the biogas slurry has the characteristics of "high COD, high ammonia nitrogen, high phosphorus". The pollution has seriously affected the lives of local residents.

In the face of serious problems of pork food safety and breeding pollution, in 2009, Zhejiang Tsinghua Yangtze River Delta Research Institute and Nanhu District Government jointly established the "Zhejiang Tsinghua Yangtze River Delta Research Institute Nanhu Green Livestock and Poultry Research Center". In this center, a returnee doctor named Wang Yulong leads his innovative team to explore a new breeding model of food safety, environment-friendly and taste enhancement, starting with the research and development of green feed with "no antibiotics and low heavy metals". Lead local farmers out of farming difficulties.

In order to solve the problem of pork food safety, the team created "source control": using compound defensins instead of antibiotics and adding only the required minerals to develop the core premix of green feed for pigs. In the production of "no antibiotic residues, no heavy metals exceeding the standard, no clenbuterol added" green "pork, at the same time, from the source to solve the problem of pork food safety and culture pollution.

In order to solve the problem of non-point source pollution in aquaculture, the team initiated "end treatment": research and development of bacteria and algae biotechnology, and established a resource recycling process of "pig-biogas liquid-pretreatment-algae primary purification-algae secondary purification-fish and algae double harvest-clean water". This ecological cycle management model is suitable for both intensive farming and centralized treatment of bulk farmers, and solves the problem of pollution control for farmers.

At present, Nanhu Green Livestock and Poultry R & D Center has established the R & D model of "source control-process monitoring-end management", and created the industrialization model of "green pork-monopoly chain-brand management". On the basis of full market research, the center chose to cooperate with Jinhong Animal Husbandry, the largest farmer in Jiaxing, to carry out pilot projects of green farming and sewage treatment, and the first batch of 2,000 live pigs came out one after another. In addition, the aquaculture sewage treatment experimental pond has been completed and used, covering an area of about 400 square meters, four circular treatment ponds with a diameter of 9 meters can treat up to 15 tons of sewage per day. In 2011, the center registered the trademark "Dr. Wang", and a green breeding model of "science, industry and trade integration" of "scientific research support at home and abroad + production base demonstration + market direct monopoly chain" is being established in Jiaxing.

Starting with "source control", the safe green pork produced by Dr. Wang's team has been tested to meet the Green Food Meat and Meat products Standard of the Ministry of Agriculture (NY/T843-2009). Through "end treatment", Dr. Wang's team developed "bacteria and algae technology to treat biogas slurry" to meet the "Livestock and Poultry breeding Pollutant discharge Standard" (GB18596-2001), the comprehensive utilization rate of waste reached more than 95%, the harmless rate reached 100%, realizing the ecological cycle of pig breeding process.

The relevant person in charge of the Nanhu District Agricultural Economic Bureau said that for Nanhu District, where there is a large amount of pig farming, the development from traditional farming to ecological breeding is the development direction of the pig industry in the future. The green farming model created by Dr. Wang Yulong and his team not only ensures food safety, but also solves the environmental pollution caused by aquaculture. It is very close to ecological farming and can be gradually promoted among large-scale farmers.
