According to data provided by the Market and Economic Information Department of the Ministry of Agriculture on the 17th, the price of white-striped chicken fluctuated before the Spring Festival, reaching 15.52 yuan per kilogram this year on February 13, and then fluctuated down, reaching 12.97 yuan on May 12, the lowest so far this year, and rising to 13.51 yuan on May 15, but still 4.2% lower than the same period last year.

In terms of trading volume, trading volume began to shrink rapidly in the 13th week (March 25-31), reaching this year's minimum in the 18th week, which was only 41.3% of that in the 13th week, a decrease of 68.8% compared with the same period last year. In the 19th week (May 6-12), trading volume rebounded 25.6% month-on-month, still 67.2% lower than the same period last year.

Bi Meijia, chief economist of the Ministry of Agriculture, said that since the outbreak of human cases of H7N9 bird flu virus, the poultry industry has been greatly affected. The CPC Central Committee and the State Council attached great importance to the development of the poultry industry. on May 8, the State Council held an executive meeting to study the issue of stabilizing the development of the poultry industry, issued policies to support the production of the poultry industry, and provided one-time subsidies to ancestral breeder enterprises. at the same time, the working capital loans of key leading enterprises in poultry processing are discounted for a short time.

While the central government has increased policy support for the poultry industry, four provinces in Henan, Shandong, Chongqing and Guangxi recently issued documents in the name of the government, issuing subsidies for poultry farms and farms, and subsidies for enterprises to purchase and process them. At present, 10 provinces have issued poultry production support policies one after another.

The turn of spring and summer is the peak season for poultry fencing, so it is urgent to protect the basic production capacity of breeding birds. In the near future, animal husbandry and veterinary departments at all levels will actively cooperate with relevant departments to implement the policies and measures of the central and local governments to support poultry production, implement the policies to poultry enterprises and farmers as soon as possible, and protect the enthusiasm of poultry enterprises and farmers. Efforts will be made to reduce losses in the poultry industry and promote the resumption and development of the poultry industry.
