At present, in Liuheyu Village, Taishitun Town, Miyun County, Beijing City, Zhao Chengxue, a villager, grafted a Wenwan walnut tree with luxuriant leaves and full fruits.

In recent years, with the rise of the walnut craze, the price of Wenwan walnut has risen. Zhao Chengxue, a villager of Liuheyu Village, saw the business opportunity early. In 2010, he grafted 200 Wenwan walnuts and made a profit of 500,000 yuan. Since 2011, he has invested more than 5 million yuan successively, introduced more than 10 famous varieties such as lion head, official hat, tiger head and chicken heart from Hebei, and grafted more than 800 mu of wild walnut trees on the contracted mountain field.

At present, more than 15000 walnut trees on the mountain field have been grafted into Wenwan walnut trees and have begun to bear fruit for six consecutive years, becoming the largest Wenwan walnut base in the suburbs of Beijing. Many senior collectors of walnuts in Beijing have also come to pick walnuts. Zhao Chengxue told the author that the income of these walnut trees can reach 1.5 million yuan this year. In the future, he plans to combine the planting of Wenwan walnut with the development of local tourism to develop walnut business in different forms.
