At present, it is the peak season for the harvest of scallop snails in the coastal villages of Leizhou, Guangdong, and trucks from other places continue to drive into the village committee of Wushi Town, Leizhou City, to trade seafood with the local people. At present, the purchase price of local seafood has been rising. The local people said happily: intellectual poverty alleviation, so that they have a wider and wider road to wealth.

Xiayu Village is a coastal natural village of the companion village committee. Due to the large population and little land, the agricultural production conditions are poor, and the economy is relatively backward. In recent years, under the correct guidance of the local party committee and government, the people of the village have made great efforts to develop mariculture and do a good job in marine articles, resulting in the emergence of a large number of professional farmers in the village. However, due to the constraints of traditional backward concepts, breeding technology and sales channels, the local aquaculture industry was once in trouble, and some farmers even sprouted the idea of "leaving their hometown and going out to work." In 2010, the Health Bureau of Leizhou City, in accordance with the relevant requirements of superiors, stationed in the village to carry out "double-to-development" work. "Poverty alleviation first helps wisdom. Only by improving people's breeding skills and helping them broaden the sales channels of seafood can we enable the masses to increase production and income, shake off poverty and become rich!" The leaders of the bureau unified their ideological understanding and formulated a scientific intellectual poverty alleviation plan: every year, they invited professors from Guangdong Ocean University to hold four training courses on snail and shrimp farming techniques for the people of the village free of charge, so as to urge the people of the village to change their traditional backward culture techniques and scientifically master advanced culture techniques; at the same time, they helped the masses to introduce excellent snail seedlings and shrimp seedlings, so that the village snail seedlings and shrimp seedlings could be gradually improved.

"in the past, when I raised snails, I didn't pay attention to the temperature of the sea water, and I didn't master the rules of snail seedlings' activities. after taking part in technical training, I understood the living environment and activities of snail seedlings. After careful management, snail seedlings grew gratifying and had a bumper harvest in successive years!" Ding Haizhi, a farmer in the village, told reporters that last year, the output of his scallop snails was 30,000 jin, with a net income of more than 30,000 yuan. This year, his scallop snails have entered the peak harvest season, with an estimated total output of 50,000 jin and a net income of more than 100,000 yuan. According to the cadres of the village, the snail farming industry in the village is developing rapidly. at present, 200 households in the village raise scallop snails, and the snail industry generally increases production and income. Last year, the annual net income of the snail industry in the village was more than 6 million yuan, with an average annual net income of more than 30,000 yuan per household. This year, with the help of the resident poverty alleviation working group, the people of the village broadened the sales channels of seafood, attracted many customers from Hubei, Hunan, Hainan and other places to trade seafood, and activated the local seafood market.

On the 12th, the reporter saw in the village that many non-local customers drove their trucks to the head of the village to trade seafood with the local people. on the same day, the purchase price of scallop snails was 2.5 / jin. A non-local customer surnamed Chen told the reporter that because the scallop snails cultivated by the people in the village had high output and delicious meat, they were generally favored by consumers, so they came here to buy. At present, all the scallop snails he purchased have entered the international markets such as Macao and Hong Kong, and the supply of scallop snails falls short of demand. At present, the trading of scallop snails in the village has entered the most exciting part, with an average daily trading volume of 200000 jin and a daily trading amount of more than 400,000 yuan.
