This morning, in a fish pond in Maling Village, Danyang Development Zone, Jiangsu Province, fishing masters were slowly closing up the arranged nets. As the masters concentrated the fishing nets on both sides to the shore of the fish pond, a variety of colorful koi gradually floated to the surface and jumped in the water. After preliminary screening and cleaning, the chefs transferred the heavy schools of ornamental fish from the big fish ponds to the "small rooms".

Ornamental fish culture

Wu Liguang, a farmer, told the reporter that he has been engaged in the cultivation and sale of ornamental fish for more than 30 years. This year, he contracted seven fish ponds with a total of 10 mu of pond noodles to cultivate ornamental fish. Just now he caught only part of the fish in the pond. This is because the harvest of ornamental fish is not all in one net, but the amount of fish that the buyer ordered. The fish he just caught was urgently asked from him by a customer in Jiangyin two days ago. Although it has been caught, Wu Liguang did not ask the buyer to pick it up immediately.

With his rich experience in farming, Wu Liguang has had a bumper harvest this year. The output of golden crucian carp is about 20 million, and that of brocade carp and goldfish is about 8 million, and the output and quality are better than in previous years. Wu Liguang told reporters that since August, customers have been coming to buy, and now most of the ornamental fish have been sold.

Next year, Wu Liguang will increase the density of fish culture by adding oxygen to the bottom. By that time, a fish pond will be able to produce 10 million fish. Here, we also hope that Lao Wu will be a great success and have fish year after year.
