Last Updated: 2024/11/06, The bosses of Guangdong poultry enterprises run away: the poultry industry has lost more than 10 billion yuan

The two rounds of "H7N9 virus" incidents since last year have dealt a serious blow to the poultry industry nationwide. According to statistics, Guangdong, a large breeding province, lost more than 10 billion yuan, and is expanding at a scale of 1 billion yuan per month. In Kaiping City, the phenomenon of "running away" of poultry enterprise bosses has appeared.

Boss "Run" Chicken Farmers Helpless

"Economic Information Daily" reporter recently came to Guangdong Kaiping City Chishui Town Kaiping City Hezhong Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd. office building location, the company door locked, empty no one. Locals say the owner of Hezhong Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd. has rolled up money, most likely because the company's capital chain is broken.

It is understood that Hezhong Animal Husbandry Company was established at the end of June last year, with three shareholders, namely Zhou Yisheng, Li Yijin and Li Honghai. Farmer Wang Yunlong said, Zhou Yisheng and Li Yijin disappeared, They "caught" Li Honghai, Keep watching,"On the toilet also followed, But finally Li Honghai or ran away."

There are more than 70 breeding households involved in Hezhong Animal Husbandry Company, and the mode adopted is basically the universal "company + farmer household" mode. The company signs contracts with farmers, farmers raise chickens for the company, the company provides chicken seedlings, feed, medicine and technology for farmers, farmers pay a deposit of 2 yuan or 3 yuan to each chicken seedling of the company, and the company will recover them according to the contract after raising them. The company's feed and other expenses are deducted from the chicken sales, and generally the profit of each chicken farmer is 2 to 3 yuan.

After the closure of the company, the farmers involved faced difficult difficulties. Some farmers 'chickens have been recovered by the company, but they have not received any money. The deposit and chicken sales money have all been taken away; some farmers have paid the deposit and brought back the chicken seedlings. Now they have no feed to feed and can only starve to death. Long Shangfang, who is in his 60s, bought more than 18000 chickens from Hezhong Animal Husbandry Company. From January 15, when the feed supply of the company was cut off to January 23, only more than 5000 chickens starved to death because they could not afford to buy feed themselves.

Farmer Yang Jiebin's wife said sadly: "Feed is expensive, a pack of more than 100 pieces, now borrow money everywhere to buy feed, to feed the big also 200,000 yuan. But where did we get so much money? I hope someone can help us."

Chen Yingfeng, president of the Guangdong Province Poultry Industry Association, said there are about 10 million employees in Guangdong poultry farming industry, most of whom are farmers.

The birds and the birds are going to spend all their money

Continuous blow to poultry industry enterprise capital turnover difficult "from April last year to now, poultry industry losses, most of the enterprise funds at the edge of fracture." Guangdong Province poultry industry association secretary general Lin Min said.

Guangdong Kaiping City Green Emperor Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Development Co., Ltd. last year output value 420 million yuan, listed 16.8 million chickens, involving 1020 breeding farmers, loss 30.5 million yuan. On the eve of the Spring Festival, Huang Weilong, general manager of the company engaged in poultry farming for 8 years, recently told the Economic Information Daily that "all the money earned before has been lost this time."

Monitoring data provided by Guangdong Wenshi Food Group Co., Ltd., a well-known agricultural leading enterprise in China, show that on April 4,2013, the average wholesale price of Guangdong yellow chicken was 5.55 yuan per catty, while the lowest price fell to 2.22 yuan per catty on May 1.

"At that time, chickens could not be sold, but they could not be collected. Everyone is saving themselves. One is to open up the rural market and let salesmen drive to rural areas such as Maoming City in western Guangdong to sell chickens in the countryside. The other is to collect and slaughter those that cannot be sold. Seven or eight thousand chickens are slaughtered every day. Up to now, there are still hundreds of thousands in the freezer." Huang Weilong said.

Beginning in August last year, Guangdong poultry market began to recover, by October basically returned to normal. But a renewed outbreak in December left the poultry industry in dire straits. Huang Yonglu, president of Kaiping City Poultry Industry Association, said that enterprises in the first half of the year are reducing production, October just adjusted the output back, the result chicken almost to the time to go out, and encountered an epidemic situation, now is not to sell or not to sell.

Huang Weilong said: "We are raising chickens, the cost is high, about 8.5 yuan a catty, the price of these days is about 5 yuan a catty, a chicken about 3 pounds, to lose 9 yuan." We sell 50,000 chickens a day, which means I sit in my office and watch as I don't see hundreds of thousands of dollars a day."

"After the festival, the bad market of poultry industry is still continuing. Now the enterprise is basically supporting itself. All the previous assets have been taken out. If it is not enough, we can only rely on old relationships to find some bank loans." Chen Yingfeng said.

Guangdong poultry industry loses more than 10 billion yuan

Two rounds of "H7N9 virus" incidents broke out in April and December last year, which brought serious blows to the poultry industry in Guangdong Province. Enterprises and farmers generally suffered losses. Industry insiders called it a "devastating" blow when interviewed by reporters from Economic Information Daily. According to the statistics of Guangdong Poultry Industry Association, the losses caused by two rounds of H7N9 incidents to Guangdong poultry industry have exceeded 10 billion yuan. Chen Yingfeng said losses in Guangdong's poultry industry are expanding at a monthly rate of 1 billion yuan.

It is reported that Guangdong Province is a major poultry production and consumption province in China. In 2012, there were 1.13 billion poultry, accounting for 10% of the country's total, ranking second, among which the output of yellow-feathered broilers (referred to as yellow chickens), waterfowl and meat pigeons ranked first in the country, and the most important yellow chickens reached 700 million.

A report from the Agriculture Department of Guangdong Province shows that after successive cases of human infection with H7N9 virus were reported as "avian influenza," consumers panicked, Guangdong meat and poultry sales dropped sharply, prices plummeted, poultry breeding enterprises, farms and farmers suffered overall losses.

"Guangdong produces a large amount of poultry, and the consumption of yellow chickens in Guangdong is mainly in the form of live poultry trading. The word 'avian flu' has made people pale when talking about poultry. Some experts remind people to 'stay away from live poultry', making Guangdong the province with the heaviest losses." Chen Yingfeng said.
