Song Junwen, a post-80s village official, began to open an online store on Taobao last year to help local villagers sell Zihuai Mountain. Some time ago, he has been "puzzling" whether to participate in the Chinese Youth Agriculture-related Industry Entrepreneurship Competition, because similar competitions have been held in the past, but the platform and practical help are limited. However, when he learned the details of the competition from the Wechat "South Guangdong Happy New Countryside" of the Guangdong Provincial CPC Committee, he resolutely chose to participate.

The "Postal savings Bank Cup" 2014 Chinese Youth Agriculture-related Industry Entrepreneurship Competition, jointly organized by the Communist Youth League Central Committee, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Postal savings Bank of China and the Guangdong Provincial Government, takes "agriculture-related" as the theme and adopts the form of "regional competition + national competition". It is divided into four links: provincial regional competitions, preliminary evaluation of national competitions, national semi-finals and national finals. Five "big gift packages" are provided for contestants: project funds, entrepreneurial financing support, entrepreneurial mentoring, entrepreneurial policy support and selection honor.

It was these "big gift bags" that moved Song Junwen. At present, contestants from 26 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) have participated in the competition. according to incomplete statistics, 9339 projects and 10108 young entrepreneurs have signed up to participate in the competition through various channels.

Practice + theory: even the best young entrepreneurs should show

In 2012, Zhang Ye, a junior majoring in plant protection at South China Agricultural University, heard his teacher mention the "roof insulation lawn" project for the first time in class. He instinctively felt very promising and decided to register and set up a roof insulation company that year.

"the number of orders taken by our company is gradually increasing, and last year's turnover reached more than 1 million yuan. We hope to let more people know about our project by participating in the competition. " Zhang Ye confessed.

In the view of Wei Yanan, head of the Agriculture and Youth Department of the Shaanxi Provincial CPC Committee, many entrepreneurial young people are eager to have a platform to show themselves, and the Youth League organization has the responsibility to "land" the youth's idea of starting a business involving agriculture.

For this reason, Shaanxi Province specially listed the agriculture-related industries as the innovation point of the competition in the process of organizing the competition to create wealth. Through the provincial and municipal entrepreneurial competitions, excellent projects are selected to participate in the national competition.

"A survey has been conducted before, and the vast majority of rural young people said that the lack of funds at the beginning of their start-up has become a major 'hindrance'." Talking about the original intention of holding the competition, Ci Wangpingcuo, head of the Agriculture and Youth Department of the Communist Youth League Central Committee, said, "in the course of our work, we have noticed that many 'new educated youth' use new technology to start businesses in rural areas, and also want to solve their practical difficulties in starting a business."

The threshold of this competition is not high, but there is a lot of subdivision. Apart from the requirement that the age should not exceed 40 years old, the entries are divided into three categories: breeding, processing of agricultural products, and socialized agricultural services. It is expected that each province and city will select five outstanding candidates from regional competitions to participate in the national competition.

Huang Ruihuan, head of the Agriculture and Youth Department of the Guangdong Provincial CPC Committee of the delegation, believes that the biggest highlight of this event is "practice + theory." she said: "We not only see how the plan is done, but also whether the idea is in line with the reality of rural areas. No matter how good the entrepreneurs are, they also have to show."

In order to enable contestants to compete on the "same starting line", the organizing committee of the competition divides the competition into two categories: one is the creative group, that is, entrepreneurial organizations that are not officially registered, including inventions, patented technologies and conceptual products or services realized through research and development. The second is the start-up group, which is an enterprise or individual industrial and commercial household that has been formally registered, standardized and has no bad record, and is divided into growth group and start-up group according to the different financing needs.

Hard input + soft input: League organizations pry social forces to serve youth

"in the past, there were many competitions that only focused on the results, and even if the competition was over, it was rare to consider the follow-up entrepreneurial development of the contestants." Gong Yusi, a junior at South China Agricultural University, said with deep feeling about the entrepreneurial competition, "our team participated in this competition not because of the ranking that the competition can give us, but because of the competition to publicize our project and get more opportunities."

In this competition, the Youth League organization not only set up a platform for young agriculture-related entrepreneurs to show themselves, but also provided a lot of financial support. The competition will determine a total of 18 winners in the creative group, entrepreneurial start-up group and entrepreneurial growth group, with an one-time bonus of 1.18 million yuan and a maximum reward of 200000 yuan. The designers of the competition believe that in terms of entrepreneurial assistance, the hard input of the League organization is not dominant. However, we can give full play to the strengths of the League organization and use social resources to meet the needs of young people through competitions.

From the registration stage of the competition, the regiment organization attaches great importance to soft input. The competition was launched with the help of the organizations directly under the national township regiment and the Postal savings Bank network, and the grass-roots League cadres of the Communist Youth League system and the grass-roots credit officers of the postal savings system went to the grass-roots level and rural areas to "walk into the village and enter the house." directly send the information of the competition and the way to participate in registration to the grass-roots youth. Participants have the opportunity to receive financing support of up to 20 million yuan, including micro-loans, personal business loans, small business legal person loans and so on.

Give full play to the leveraging role of League organizations and pry social resources have achieved remarkable results. At present, the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee alone has begun to select 280 agriculture-related projects, and has sought more than 1 million yuan from the local Postal savings Bank for support, while companies preparing to introduce venture capital have followed up on the award-winning projects.

"how to pry social resources is also a challenge for us. By adopting the model of 'hard input + soft input', we hope that the work related to agriculture and entrepreneurship can reach the hearts of young people." Liang Junda, deputy secretary of the Guangdong Provincial CPC Committee of the delegation, said.

How to carry out soft investment, local league organizations are also carrying out different explorations. Experts' comments and on-the-spot guidance were arranged in the audition session of the entrepreneurial competition held by the Hubei Provincial Party Committee. An elite training camp was carried out in the semi-finals, and all the contestants who entered the top 60 were listed as the key training targets of the Communist Youth League and the Postal savings Bank, providing tracking services in terms of capital, technology, sales, information and so on.

Soft investment is not limited to this. The organizers of the competition also invited four "got talents" known as "Rural Entrepreneurship F4": Zhao Yi, founder of local villagers, Chen Tongkui, founder of litchi, founder of volcanic village, Zhong Wenbin, founder of Xinnongtang agricultural self-media, and Liu Jingwen, founder of conscience farmers in Vijidani, together with the contestants, held an in-depth sharing meeting to provide personalized guidance to young entrepreneurs.

Agriculture + touching the net: setting up a stage outside the field to make the "new educated youth" have a bright future.

Song Junwen sold 300000 jin of agricultural products in Zengcheng City, Guangdong Province through Taobao in 2013, with a turnover of more than 1 million yuan, but he was not satisfied. This year, he has a bold idea to work with local litchi and longan agricultural cooperatives to use the original Taobao and Wechat for early subscription and pre-sale. "however, we still have a lot of problems to solve at present." Song Junwen said.
