At the just-concluded 2014 e-commerce promotion meeting for characteristic agricultural products and the e-commerce development summit forum, Jin Jianhang, president of Alibaba, introduced the e-commerce "Vijidani" as a typical case to the attendees of the plenary session.

Liu Jinwen, founder of Vijidani, told reporters after the meeting that, as Alibaba President Jin Jianhang said, "Vijidani is bridging the information gap among small farmers," allowing farmers who do not understand Chinese to communicate happily with everyone through the Internet, and live a better life.

Vijidani is an online store based on villagers' mutual help groups and cooperatives in Kashgar. It currently has ties with 2000 farmers in Xinjiang and sells local specialties such as chickpeas, honey, walnuts and dates online.

It is understood that Tmall's "Singles Day" day, "Vijidani" online store sold 500000 yuan of agricultural products.

Liu Jingwen said that in 2013, Vijidani signed a sales contract with farmers through agricultural technology training organized by cooperatives. One of the farmers with the best sales sold 48000 yuan worth of dried apricots through the Internet, and this kind of income was something farmers had never thought of before.

Conscience is established.

Liu Jingwen has been a reporter in Shenzhen Jingbao for more than ten years. In 2011, he worked as a volunteer in an one-year government aid project in Xinjiang, coming to Kashgar from Shenzhen.

After arriving in Kashgar, in order to facilitate communication, the local staff introduced Maihe Muti Tursun Amu to Liu Jingwen and his party. Amu, a young man, not only served as a guide for everyone, but also worked as a part-time interpreter. No one thought of it. Everyone has intersected ever since.

In 2011, Amu was admitted to the civil service, but he found the job a bit "boring". Amu, who usually likes to play Weibo, was struck by the news that "farmers sell potatoes through Weibo."

Just at this time, Liu Jingwen and his companions were pondering the same question. There is a big temperature difference between morning and evening, and melons and fruits are particularly sweet, but farmers can only sell them through the local "bazaar". Such a bumper harvest eventually became an annoyance. Several young people came together to help farmers sell their backlog of specialty products with Weibo, the hottest product at the moment.

The older generation in Kashi Township did not understand the Internet, and it took Amu a lot of thought to explain to farmers that they wanted to sell things on the Internet. In the end, farmers seemed to understand the Internet, and the suggestion of using the Internet to sell dried fruit was immediately adopted.

In order to better identify the special products, after some discussion, Liu Jingwen and his friends decided to name the online store "Vijidani", which translated into Chinese means "conscience".

To everyone's surprise, the response from Weibo was so enthusiastic that unsalable specialties were soon sold out.

Liu Jingwen and others originally planned to go home after selling unsalable specialties for the Spring Festival, when more farmers found them, hoping to sell their melons and fruits through the Internet "Bazaar". In this way, Amu decided to quit his job, determined to sell specialties full-time online, and focus on developing online "Bazaar" with Liu Jingwen.

The forwarding of Weibo Big V has always been an important way for Liu Jingwen's team to promote dried fruit specialties. The idea of these young people was added to the fire when he found that Liu Jingwen was using the Internet to promote agricultural products on Weibo.

It turned out that Lao Rong was Wang Juntao, the founder of 8848, one of the first e-commerce pioneers in China, who invested a sum of money in Liu Jingwen.

After raising about 500000 yuan in start-up capital, Vijidani Trading Co., Ltd. was established.

"conscience" Alipay

Tudi Mamuti old man has been growing land for 56 years. Amu and his friends went to Mamuti to order dried apricots and dates. At first, the old man insisted on not accepting a deposit. He did not understand: how could he collect money if he had not given anything yet?

In Liu Jingwen's view, as soon as he said "Vijidani", many meanings that were difficult to generalize were immediately known to each other. "the Muslim Alipay is their faith."

From the very beginning, Liu Jingwen hoped that Vijidani could maintain the commercial cycle and unite farmers' cooperatives to form a community of interests with the companies that sell and sell.

At the beginning, logistics struggled to keep up with orders, and consumers "complained" that they were as slow as "delivering goods on a donkey". Lao Rong suggested that the type and quantity of orders for next month should be uniformly sent to Beijing, and as soon as there was an order, he would send it from Beijing to the whole country. In this way, the problem was quickly solved.

Amu is responsible for controlling the quality, size and sweetness of the dried fruit. Li Fang, a young member, is mainly responsible for visiting farmers who supply goods.

By visiting, Liu Jingwen hopes to keep abreast of the situation of farmers, tell them market information, and ensure that consumers know clearly the details of the food they buy.

The reward of conscience

Vijidani's die-hard fans are seen as a source of inspiration for Liu Jingwen, who give enthusiastic advice on Weibo, Wechat and Ali Wangwang. "what if dried fruit is easily eaten by insects?" An unknown engineer introduced to them via Weibo how many degrees Celsius freezing can kill insects and popularize microwave technology. The slogan "the smell of childhood" was also invented by fans; Vijidani posted pictures of several Uighur children playing a broken football, and soon a fan sent 10 footballs to Kashgar.

Amu and his partners will attach farmers' postcards to their deliveries. Every once in a while, these postcards are sent back to farmers from all over the world, such as Paris or New York. The partners read the postcards' feelings about dried apricots, land and people to farmers.

In 2014, Liu Jingwen also held a nationwide campaign to "adopt a small round jujube tree". At the event site, stars such as Li Yapeng and Wang Xuebing also participated in and adopted the small round jujube tree.

What impressed Liu Jingwen most was that at the adoption ceremony of the jujube orchard tree in Kashgar on October 16, many mainland adopters who had not been to Kashgar specially came to Kashgar to participate in the adoption ceremony.

Zhong Sheng, vice mayor of Kashgar City, said that the team led by Liu Jingwen has used the Internet to open up the market of local farmers and solved the problems of farmers' production, financing, agriculture, training and so on.
