In April 2013, Li Jian retired to Pingqiao Village, Dadukou Town, to develop the aquaculture industry. He considered that if you raise ordinary commercial pigs, the market risk is too high, and the sewage problem is not easy to solve. After investigation, Li Jian decided to develop characteristic ecological pig farming by relying on the advantages of many barren mountains and good vegetation in Pingqiao Village.

He contracted 50 mu of barren mountains through land transfer, invested more than 200,000 yuan to build a standardized pig house, introduced 10 Guizhou Congjiang Xiang pigs, and established the Ningfeng Ecological Agriculture Association.

When I walked into Li Jian's Xiang Pig Farm, I saw groups of Xiang pigs chasing and foraging on the hillside. In the enclosure, several black-haired and short-shaped Xiang pigs were lying on the thick lees to rest. No flies can be seen or smelled in the pigsty. "you see, these little pigs sleep on soft lees, which is similar to sleeping on Simmons." Li Jian said.

"this is not a single distiller's grains. The upper layer contains bacteria and biological enzymes, and the lower layer is a fermentation bed with oxygen delivery and exhaust facilities." Li Jian said that raising pigs by high-bed fermentation of distiller's grains is a pig-raising technology provided by cooperative technology companies. It not only has the functions of sterilization and deodorization, but also ensures the health of fragrant pigs.

"the reason for choosing high-bed fermentation of distiller's grains to raise pigs is that Dadukou Town has made great efforts to develop the liquor industry, and the waste lees for the production of liquor is the main raw material of my breeding and fermentation bed." Li Jian said that the fermentation bed can also decompose Xiang pig's excrement and turn it into organic fertilizer, and two fertilizer companies have signed acquisition agreements with him.

The secret that supply falls short of demand

In recent years, despite the ups and downs of pork prices in the market, Li Jian's Xiang pigs have always been in short supply, he said, thanks to the excellent quality of his Xiang pigs.

It is understood that Li Jian's distiller's grains high-bed fermentation culture method basically belongs to the "lazy man management" mode, and breeders only need to feed on time every day. Xiang pigs are usually fed four times a day, concentrate and green feed twice each, and free-range Xiang pigs do not need to be summoned. At the point of time, they will take the initiative to wait for food at the feeding site.

"except when eating, Xiang pigs are raised on the hillside and often run for exercise, not only with delicate meat, but also with moderate fat and good taste." Li Jian said that the fragrant pigs on the farm can generally be listed at about 80 kilograms. Except that some of the pigs recovered by the company are sold to Chongqing, Yibin, Chengdu and other places, the rest are booked by phone from surrounding enterprises, shopping malls and restaurants.

At present, Li Jian's farm has developed more than 200 Xiang pigs and more than 800 piglets, with annual sales of nearly 2 million yuan. Seeing that Li Jian raised fragrant pigs to get rich, villagers came to visit and study almost every day, and the supply of fragrant pigs fell short of demand.

Drive the villagers to raise pigs to increase their income

"I've lived for decades, and I've never seen this method of raising pigs, let alone that it works so well!" Said Zhang Conggao, a 65-year-old villager.

In order to drive the villagers to get rich together, Li Jian not only let the villagers visit the farm, but also explained the technical essentials of fragrant pig breeding free of charge. In March this year, Zhang Conggao spent 600 yuan on two piglets and joined the cooperative. at present, the two Xiang pigs are growing well and can be fenced out a year ago, and their net income is expected to reach about 3000 yuan.

"now there are nearly 100 villagers farming around." Li Jian said, "the exclusive agency also specially contacts the merchants to implement a 'guaranteed price' to buy Xiang pigs. the price of each piglet is 300 yuan, and the price of commercial pigs is about 40 yuan per kilogram. If there is an order for purchase, there is no worry about the market, and the villagers rely on the cooperative on their backs. it is almost 'zero risk' breeding."

In addition, for farmers with financial difficulties, Li Jian adopted the method of "feeding piglets first and deducting the cost of piglets during recovery" to lower the threshold for entry into the society and allow more villagers to participate. "in two years, the farm will achieve the goal of keeping 400 breeding pigs and 100 million piglets." When it comes to the prospect of the farm, Li Jian is full of confidence.
