In the green fir forest, flocks of chickens are looking for food leisurely. A few days ago, the author came to the mountain forest chicken farm of Li Fulin, a farmer in Changfu Village, Longtang Town, Dingnan County, and interviewed the farmer who returned home to start a business.

Li Fulin, born in 1964, went to Chaozhou, Guangdong Province to work as an electric welder for 20 years after graduating from high school. However, he has always had a dream in his heart, that is, to set up his own eco-friendly farm.

During his days as a migrant worker, Li Fulin has been insisting on self-taught farming techniques. In 2012, Li Fulin returned to his hometown with a dream. Combined with the reality of his hometown, Li Fulin found that the woodland could be used to raise chickens under the forest. on the one hand, chicken manure can be used as fertilizer for trees to provide organic fertilizer for trees, while chickens can peck at pests, which not only promote the growth of trees, but also reduce the cost of raising; on the other hand, trees create a suitable growth environment for chickens, and the chickens raised have strong immunity and high nutritional value. After careful consideration, Li Fulin decided to plant fir trees and raise chickens under the fir forest. As a result, he first invested more than 200,000 yuan to plant more than 300 mu of fir trees, and then introduced 1600 Italian Laihang chicken seedlings.

As Li Fulin persisted in self-study for decades and accumulated rich breeding techniques, there were rules to follow at the beginning of breeding, coupled with the guidance and help of technicians from the town's animal husbandry and veterinary station, each link was arranged properly. Li Fulin's "chicken herd" life started smoothly. In the process of developing the aquaculture industry, Li Fulin attaches great importance to the input of science and technology. He kept the chickens in the fir forest to freely feed on natural grass and insects, and fed them with rice bran and other miscellaneous grains in the morning and evening, while the chicken manure was left in the fir forest, which increased the fertility of the woodland and formed a virtuous cycle ecosystem. This feeding method ensures the natural quality of chickens to the greatest extent, and truly realizes "pure ecology and pure green".

At present, the chickens raised by Li Fulin can lay more than 800 eggs a day. Linxia eggs with delicious taste and high nutritional value have attracted many customers to buy, and egg sales continue to rise. Today, Li Fulin can make a profit of more than 250000 yuan a year by raising layers alone.
