On September 16, in an ordinary melon shed in Huilong Township, Huilong Township, a series of hard-skinned, uneven-looking fruits were hung all over the shelves, and the villagers were busy picking and packing them for transportation.

"this is a kind of fruit imported from the African desert, called ginseng fruit." Grower Xu Jinjing saw the author wonder, smiled and introduced that the ginseng fruit, also known as Martian fruit, is native to the Kalahari Desert in Africa, with a yellow skin, spiny skin and green fruit inside. Melon meat is delicate and multi-seeded, taste similar to the mixed taste of banana, cucumber and lemon, after eating, there will be a slight aftertaste. It is a fruit rookie in big cities at present, and it is very popular with young people. "at present, what we pick is a little greener, but it turns yellow when we leave it at home for a period of time. One is now on the market for about three or four yuan. "

Xu Jinjing originally worked in Zhejiang. Seeing hot sales and high prices in the market, Xu Jinjing came up with the idea of planting ginseng fruit. Introduced by a friend, he learned planting techniques and bought seedlings. In 2013, he returned to the village and began to try planting. The yield per mu reached more than 30,000 yuan that year. After a hit, under his influence and drive, in 2014, more than 20 households in the village began to plant ginseng fruit, with a planting area of more than 50 mu and an average yield of 5,000 to 6,000 mu, with a yield of more than 10,000 yuan per mu calculated at the purchase price of 2 yuan each.

Xu Jinjing said: the introduction and cultivation of ginseng fruit has also broken the forbidden area where tropical African fruits cannot be grown in the mountainous areas of northern Fujian, opening up a new way for farmers in northern Fujian to get rich.
