Aim at the barren mountains and draw a blueprint

GE Wenyang used to work in the township finance office, but he had the desire to contract barren mountains before he retired. But at that time, he discussed the matter with his wife, but there was no way to discuss it. For nothing else, his wife is not optimistic about his body and bones, worried that he can not get the job done, and then exhausted his health. But Lao GE has a bad temper, and what he is sure of must be done.

"I am a restless person. I don't want to stay at home all day after retirement. I want to do some work and exercise. Seeing that a large area of mountain in the village is so barren, I want to contract a piece of development to do something and give the villagers a head start. " GE Wenyang said that in order to communicate with his wife, he spoke during the day and at night, and started his sons and daughters to talk together, and finally his wife nodded and agreed.

In 2000, GE Wenyang finally contracted 60 mu of barren mountain as he wanted. he was so excited that he couldn't sleep, thinking all day about which piece to plant Chinese chestnut and which piece of walnut, and how the sour jujube on the dam festival was grafted into jujube. Insist that barren mountains "gnaw" out of terraces

Lao GE's family is three miles away from the mountain farm he contracted, and all the way is full of small trails, so it is very hard to climb the mountain every day. At first, he dug up the slightly flatter hillside to plant Chinese chestnut, but watering became a problem. It is not easy to find water on the mountain, so he pulls water from home. But simply drawing water to water trees is not a long-term solution, so he decided to dig a cellar to accumulate rain into a pond.

It is not easy to dig a big hole on a hillside and dig off and throw out hundreds of earth and stones. When the stones on the mountain are splashed with sparks, the pick can be bald in a few days. GE Wenyang, who had not done much farm work in the past, had only a day or two when he had several blood blisters on his hands. As soon as he touched the pick handle drill, his arms were so swollen that he was so tired that his legs trembled every day. When he got home, he fell down on the Kang and didn't even bother to eat. When his wife saw this, she said sadly, "Let's quit. Why bother to be so tired?" But Lao GE is of one mind, still go out early and come back late every day, digging mountains more than, over the past few months, he has dug two big pits. He brought in cement, bricks and sand, and a water cellar that could hold 150 cubic meters of water was finally completed.

The next year, GE Wenyang planed the mountain and prepared the land, repairing layers of terraces from the top of the mountain to the foot of the mountain. The blisters on the hands turned into calluses, and the swollen arms grew strong muscles. For four years, he finally planted 1000 chestnut trees and 200 walnut trees up the mountain and turned a barren mountain into an orchard.

When the villagers saw that GE Wenyang had turned the original barren mountain into a lush orchard, earning 20,000 to 30,000 yuan a year, many people could not help but be moved and began to contract the barren mountain. Within a few years, 708 households in the village, almost every household had barren mountains, and one after another planted walnut, chestnut trees and other fruit trees. Today, the village has 4000 mu of walnuts and 5000 mu of chestnut trees, and the barren mountains of the past have become ten thousand mu of dry orchards.

Since the barren mountain was contracted by the villagers, GE Wenyang has become a "brother getting rich" in everyone's eyes, scrambling to ask him for advice. GE Wenyang will also unreservedly impart experience to everyone, and after more than ten years of practice and study, GE Wenyang has already changed from a layman to an expert in fruit tree planting and management.

Every year after the trees hang fruit, some villagers will give their fruit to GE Wenyang for sale. In order to sell at a high price so that the villagers can make more money, GE Wenyang advocated the establishment of a professional fruit planting cooperative in June this year, which has now absorbed more than 90 farmers.

GE Wenyang said: cooperatives are responsible for organizing unified purchase and marketing, and the prices of the means of production purchased are usually cheaper than the market prices, and the sales of products are smoother as a result of large-scale sales, resulting in a reduction in production costs for members and an increase in sales income.

"Cooperatives will also introduce new technologies and varieties and carry out relevant technical training. This year, we are working with an e-commerce company to expand sales channels. In the future, we will also carry out agricultural products processing, transportation, storage, packaging and other services to attract more farmers to join cooperatives and drive more people to become rich.
