Yang Chunzhu, a grower of Zhonglang Green Orange Base in Wanling Town, Qiongzhong Li and Miao Autonomous County, inspects the orchard.

What is Chinese Dream? To realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is our Chinese Dream and national dream. What is "Chinese Dream" in your mind? Is it a common opportunity to enjoy excellence in life, growth and progress, or the expectation of a dream come true and a better life?

When the dream is going on, Nanhai net recently walked into the fields, factories and schools, into the urban villages and streets, and listened to the stories of ordinary people in different industries chasing and realizing their dreams during the 12th five-year Plan period. launch the "Chinese Dream-Dream Progressive time" series of reports, feel the dream under their feet with them, and look forward to the beautiful vision of the 13th five-year Plan.

"Qiongzhong Green Orange is officially on the market today!" On October 10, Zhonglang Green Orange Base in Wanling Town, Qiongzhong Li and Miao Autonomous County was lively. The opening ceremony of Qiongzhong Green Orange was held here in 2015. Yang Chunzhu, the grower of the base, smiled happily from ear to ear. This year is another bumper harvest year!

This year happens to be the 10th year of Lao Yang's fruit planting. Over the past 10 years, Qiongzhong Green Orange has become more and more popular under the strong promotion of the local government, and the price of Lao Yang's fruit is getting better and better year by year!

In the past 50 years, "Chuang Hai" planted Qiongzhong green orange and won the "first bucket of gold".

Lao Yang is from Hebei. In 2004, when he was almost 50 years old, Lao Yang, who always wanted to do something, retired from a good local unit and came to Qiongzhong with two buddies. At first, he set up a pig farm and became a "swineherd". Unexpectedly, he ran into a market recession and lost money for six years in a row.

The turning point occurred in 2006. This year, when the land that used to be a carambola was free, Lao Yang took the land with others and changed it into a green orange.

"at that time, the orange was sweet, juicy and thin-skinned. Qiongzhong Green Orange was already very famous, and it was the first trademark certified by geographical indications in Hainan. I was optimistic about the prospect of Qiongzhong Green Orange, so I planted it instead." Lao Yang recalled.

Lao Yang said that there are two other reasons: this fruit field has unique conditions-- it is adjacent to the Dabian River, sufficient water, and a large temperature difference between day and night, which is conducive to increasing sugar content, and is the most golden area for growing Qiongzhong green oranges. I have a pig farm and can provide organic farm manure for recycling agriculture, which is good for fruit trees and land.

With the famous "weather" of green and orange, coupled with many "geographical" conditions of the base, Lao Yang's green orange career developed smoothly.

In the autumn of 2010, the orchard made the first batch of green oranges on the market, and Lao Yang earned more than 200,000 yuan that year. At the age of 55, Lao Yang dug up the first bucket of gold in his life and lived up to his ambition of "entering the sea" at the age of 49.

The 12th five-year Plan at the provincial and county levels encourages the development of tropical characteristic agriculture

If the initial stage of Lao Yang's green orange career is mainly self-reliance, then, since 2011, Lao Yang has increasingly felt the support of the local government to the green orange cause, so his green orange career is thriving day by day.

On March 3, 2011, the outline of the 12th five-year Plan of Hainan Province was released. According to the 12th five-year Plan, we should "always adhere to the strategic thinking of solving the problems of agriculture, rural areas and farmers as the top priority of the work of the whole province, and promote the modernization of agriculture with tropical characteristics."

Hainan's tropical agriculture has mangoes and rubber in the south, litchi and wampee in the north, and Qiongzhong Green Orange in China.

Grasp their own characteristics, and then find the right direction of force.

Qiongzhong's 12th five-year Plan clearly pointed out, "in accordance with the province's plan to build a modern agricultural base with national tropical characteristics, combined with the mountain characteristics of our county, focus on the development of rubber, betel nut, green orange."... And other tropical mountain characteristic industries in line with the reality of Qiongzhong.

Local government support policies more green orange cause is booming with each passing day

Perfect planning is inseparable from strict implementation.

During the 12th five-year Plan period, Qiongzhong successively introduced practical policies to promote the development of Qiongzhong Green Orange. According to statistics from the Agricultural Technology Center of Qiongzhong Li and Miao Autonomous County, in 2013 alone, the county invested 4.5 million yuan in pesticide and fertilizer subsidies, as well as post-disaster assistance to growers.

"the county subsidizes fertilizers and pesticides according to the standard every year, which saves me at least 10% of my expenses every year!" Lao Yang pinched and calculated and said.

At the same time, since January 1, 2013, Qiongzhong has arranged 200000 yuan a year to carry out technical training and guidance to green orange growers throughout the county to improve the standardized management level of Qiongzhong green orange and promote the upgrading of Qiongzhong green orange industry.

"at every critical time point, such as flowering, fruiting, and fruit expansion, we can see that the staff of the agricultural technical station come down to deliver technology and give us professional guidance, which is very useful and makes people feel very warm!" Lao Yang said.

Also from January 1, 2013, in order to encourage growers, Qiongzhong offered an one-time reward of 50,000 yuan to orchards certified as pollution-free products, green food or organic agricultural products.

Lao Yang has his own way of planting fruit. Unlike others who mainly use chemical fertilizer, because there is a pig farm in the orchard, Lao Yang built a biogas digester, mainly using farm manure biogas liquid to fertilize fruit trees. Therefore, the fruit is big and sweet, the fruit trees have few insect pests, the soil is fertile and there is no hardening.

Lao Yang, who has tasted the sweetness of the supportive policy, cooperated very much and recently submitted the application materials for the certification of pollution-free products and organic agricultural products. when the examination and approval was passed, the pollution-free green orange dominated by his orchard will be proved, and he will be able to sell it at a good price.

Moreover, in the annual green orange picking season, the Qiongzhong County Party Committee and the county government will hold the opening ceremony of "Qiongzhong Green Orange", invite media reports, invite powerful businessmen to contact, and organize fruit farmers to participate in the domestic food expo. strengthen the promotion of Qiongzhong Green Orange brand and smooth sales channels.

This year, the picking ceremony was held in Lao Yang's orchard. Lao Yang stood on the top of the hill, looking at the fruit trees bent by the fruit, and his heart blossomed with joy.

A man in his sixties looks like a young man.

Here are fruitful adult trees, there are 200 mu of seedlings that have not yet borne fruit, and in a few years, the seedlings will grow into full fruit, and the annual output value of 2 million is not a dream!

Thinking of this, Lao Yang smiled at the corners of his mouth and hoped that the government would continue its caring policy to make his career better and better.

Lao Yang said that at that time, he decided to grow green oranges in order to better develop this high-quality fruit and allow more people to enjoy its delicacy. Now, with government support and his own efforts, the original intention of starting a business has been realized.

"I feel very happy! Because I also have a salary after retirement, starting a business is not for money. The spiritual satisfaction brought about by starting a business is really pleasant! "

When Lao Yang's children came to the base several times, they always felt that it was too hard for an old man to cultivate the land. Lao Yang said, "but I don't think it's hard. I think it makes sense and satisfaction to do a thing well!"
