Last Updated: 2024/11/06, Pig farmers in Haiyan, Zhejiang Province have embarked on the road to prosperity by changing production.

Cai Guoqin, a family farmer in Haiyan Yifeng, Zhejiang Province, is a 35-year-old member of six groups in Daning Village. It was originally a large-scale farmer in Daning Village, with a pig barn of more than 400 square meters, 15 sows, more than 400 pigs a year, and an annual net income of about 120000 yuan.

In the "three reforms and one demolition" campaign in 2013, after being launched through the publicity of the Village ethnic Affairs Committee, Cai Guoqin actively cooperated with the voluntary demolition of his own 400-square-meter pig house, becoming the first batch of farmers in Daning Village to demolish the pig barn. After the piggery was demolished, Cai Guoqin chose to transfer the land to grow fruits and vegetables after several considerations and trade-offs through pig conversion training. With the help of the villagers' committee, the 18 groups of transferred land in the village covered an area of 26 mu and embarked on the road of planting. By planting grapes and adopting practical cultivation techniques such as facility cultivation and scientific management, they were put into production in the second year and achieved benefits. In 2014, 9 groups of transferred land of 24.8 mu were planted figs in the village. In the same year, Yifeng Family Farm in Haiyan County was established, and it was recognized as "the fourth batch of large-scale Family Farm" by the Office of five Major projects in Haiyan County.

After Cai Guoqin started growing fruit, he registered farmers' mailboxes, often checked the buying and selling information column, looked up planting information, sent selling and buying information, and modestly consulted his peers to learn advanced management techniques. The hard work finally yielded fruitful fruits. In 2015, the total income of 26 mu of Zuijinxiang and Hongdi grapes was more than 300,000 yuan, with a net income of more than 150000 yuan; 24.8mu of red figs are expected to earn more than 298000 yuan, and the net income is not less than 150000 yuan. The net income for the whole year is about 300000 yuan, which is double that of raising pigs.

Cai Guoqin said: "although we don't raise pigs anymore, we can also get rich through the development of fruit cultivation through land transfer. as long as we work hard and work hard, there is always a reward for hard work." Through practical actions, Cai Guoqin brought a good head for pig farmers in Daning Village and even the whole Xitangqiao street, and made a satisfactory answer for the conversion of pigs to production in Xitangqiao street.
