Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Guizhou Kaili: the "pheasant commander" does not fly alone on the road to prosperity.

On October 8, there was a light rain in the sky. In the Tyson pheasant farm in Dongxia Village, Sankeshu Town, Kaili City, a group of beautiful pheasants were happily foraging and playing, except for the dark green net overhead. They live in the same environment as the surrounding mountains.

There is a lifelike pheasant specimen on the desk and several Miao and Dong feather paintings made of pheasant feathers on the wall. Yang Xilin, the head of the farm, has his own flavor in his office. "the specimens are made by themselves, and the feather paintings are also conceived by themselves and guided by workers. They have just tested the market, and the response is good." Yang Xilin said that due to the influence of the breeding season, pheasant seedlings were basically sold out before the National Day this year, and now he pays more attention to tapping the value of pheasant, figuring out how to make the road to wealth wider.

After nearly eight years of breeding wild pheasants, this "80" young man is still straining a string, because behind him, there is already a huge team, as the leader who is jokingly called "pheasant commander", his burden is very heavy.

More often, Yang Xilin thinks of himself as a "waiter". He serves customers all over Southeast Guizhou, Guiyang, Duyun, Zunyi and even in Sichuan, Hunan, Jiangxi, Yunnan and other provinces. These are all newly developed wild pheasant farmers in recent years, with a total of more than 150 households. In addition to providing chicken seedlings and feed, Yang Xilin also provides free technical training and management consultation, and even when the market is not smooth, he has to recycle wild pheasants.

"whether it's being a 'pheasant commander' or a 'waiter', I'm happy to see more and more people getting rich together." Yang Xilin smiled with white teeth, in sharp contrast to his dark face.

In 2003, Yang Xilin worked as a doctor and greening project manager after graduating from clinical medicine in Guiyang Health School, and accumulated a fortune. Once at the dinner table, he tasted a plate of pheasant. He was impressed by the delicious taste and high price, and immediately came up with the idea of raising wild pheasants. After doing some market research, Yang Xilin resolutely spent hundreds of thousands of yuan on savings in his hometown in 2008 and raised wild pheasants in the barren mountains, becoming the first person in Kaili to raise pheasants on a large scale.

Yang Xilin said that from the beginning of his business to the present, he has felt a lot of warmth from local government departments, from coordinating water and electricity to publishing supply information on the agricultural and economic website, from enclosure design to pheasant epidemic prevention.

It is this warmth that reinforces Yang Xilin's original intention of not "flying alone" on his way to get rich. In December 2009, Yang Xilin, who began to put pheasant farming on the right track, organized the "Kaili City Tyson Mountain Chicken farming Association" and began to help others out of poverty. At this time, Yang Xilin has accumulated experience and methods in pheasant breeding technology, disease prevention and control, seedling breeding, feed ratio and so on. For farmers who want to engage in pheasant farming, Yang Xilin provides a full range of services from chicken seedlings to sales.

In just a few years, pheasant farming has sprung up in Qiandongnan Prefecture, and the number of members in Qiandongnan Prefecture alone has grown to 147. there are about 120000 commercial pheasants in Qiandongnan Prefecture, with an output value of six or seven million yuan.

"it is necessary to make everyone's road to wealth more solid and stable." The growth of the team has made Yang Xilin feel more and more responsible. Apart from making more efforts in breeding technology and marketing, he has also explored the deep processing of products such as Boiled Chicken with Sauce, the development of cooked food, the production of pheasant specimens, pheasant feather paintings, and the research and development of new products, and strive to open up a broader new world for farmers.

In May last year, Yang Xilin organized and set up the "Kaili City Tyson Mountain Chicken farming Association Science Popularization Hewlett Farmer Service Station," which has built a strong platform for farmers to learn breeding techniques, exchange experiences, and explore market sales. At present, he is planning to build a large-scale pheasant experience base that integrates visit, study, catering and handicraft purchase.
