After a tour of the city, she chose to go back to the orchard.

Shao Weidi was born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province in 1987. Her parents make a living by planting fruit trees.

Shao Weidi's childhood memories are full of her parents turning the soil, fertilizing, pruning and picking fruit in the orchard. This kind of life is not what she wants, and she doesn't want to face up to the earth like her parents.

In July 2008, Shao Weidi decided to go outside after graduating from Shaoxing Yuexiu Foreign languages College. She has worked as a clerk, sales and other jobs, and her monthly salary of several thousand yuan makes her feel that life outside is not as good as she imagined.

Looking back at my parents, I found that relying on 10 mu of pear orchard was not only leisurely, but also earned more than 100,000 yuan a year, which was much better than a part-time job. "if I grow some new varieties that are not on the market, will it be more cost-effective?" As soon as she told her parents the idea, her family agreed with her.

Shao Weidi began to collect information on the Internet. It so happened that a friend came back from a business trip in Shandong and told her that there was a new product promotion meeting for agricultural products and fruit tree seedlings in Shandong, and suggested that she go and have a look.

It was at this meeting that Red Pear, the latest fruit variety introduced from Finland and optimized domestically by an agricultural research institute, attracted her attention. The pear is shaped like an apple and will be pink when ripe. Cut to taste, the flesh is snow-white and tender, crisp, juicy, small stone, full of pear flavor, and a little litchi flavor. "resistant to storage, can be stored naturally for more than 5 months, good adaptability, can be planted in both north and south, can bear fruit in 2-3 years, and the full fruit period can be maintained for more than 50 years." After listening to the introduction of the expert, Shao Weidi was moved.

Surprisingly, there are only 20 seedlings raised in this institute, and the price is 10,000 yuan each, while an ordinary pear sapling is only a few yuan.

Her planting base was expanded to the whole country by introducing new varieties of red pear.

After returning home, Shao Weidi couldn't sleep over and over again: is a seedling worth 10,000 yuan worth? It's up to the market to decide.

She specially went to the supermarket to do a survey and found that ordinary green pears and yellow pears are all in a few yuan per jin, while domestic red pears sell for more than 10 yuan. "Fruit is a rigid demand. Some people buy pears worth more than 10 yuan each. I should not worry about the market when I grow this pear." Because her parents did not support her to take risks and had no money to buy fruit seedlings, she borrowed 200000 yuan from a friend. In this way, she signed a contract with the agricultural research institute in Shandong: the other side provided technology, follow-up guidance throughout the process, and Shao Weidi was in charge of planting and promotion.

In April 2013, Shao Weidi transplanted 20 seedlings to her parents' pear orchard. The next year, it blossoms and bears fruit. Looking at the small trees covered with apple-shaped red pears, Shao Weidi was ecstatic.

The single fruit of red pear weighs 360-400 grams, with a maximum of nearly 800 grams.

The time has come for market inspection. She dragged the fruit to the farmer's market to sell the other pears at 5 yuan per jin and Shao Weidi's red pears at 10 yuan per jin. At first, people thought it was expensive and few people bought it. Shao Weidi cut the red pear into small pieces and let people taste it for free. As a result, the red pear was sold out because it tasted good.

Later, she went to the wholesale market for wholesale, and the local people gradually knew that she was selling novel fruits, and the supermarket also came to ask for bulk purchase. She gave the red pear a very elegant name: Junlei red pear.

Seeing that the market was getting bigger and bigger, she decided to cultivate seedlings and expand the planting area.

In 2014, she used 20 introduced seedlings and cultivated about 1,000 Junlei red pear seedlings. Some fruit companies were eyeing this new variety covetously, trying to buy out her technology and all the seedlings, but she refused.

At this time, Shao Weidi was even more confident. "the professionals want to buy out the varieties and prove that they have prospects." This year, seeing that the pears she sold sold well, nearby farmers all changed to grow this kind of fruit. Twenty thousand Junlei red pear seedlings were snapped up at the price of 150 yuan each. apart from the three-year investment, she made a net profit of more than 2 million yuan!

There is a steady stream of local customers, even from Guangdong, Beijing and Shaanxi.

Although there are hundreds of mu of planting bases, the orders in the national market are so huge that she began to think of mobilizing farmers with land around them to cultivate seedlings together. They cultivate seedlings and Shao Weidi uniformly recycles them. This is higher than selling pears alone.

This year, she has developed planting bases all over the country, making rational use of idle labor and abandoned land to cooperate in planting and raising seedlings. Recently, her planting base has been opened to Chibi and other places in Hubei Province.

"by the end of this year, there will be a profit of several million yuan." Shao Weidi said happily.
