Xu Shangwei: a blueprint for getting rich on the barren mountain
Build the tea mountain operation road, continue to harden the road to the mountain, manage tea trees, plant ginkgo trees in the tea fields. Over the past few days, several hills in Daijiaping Village, Shixi Town, Qianwei County have shown a scene of prosperity. Xu Shangwei, who leads the masses to do things, is a disabled person. He has supported a large family with unremitting efforts, and invested more than 2 million yuan to set up a professional cooperative for Shixi Senmao tea planting in Qianwei County. there is a broader blueprint for getting rich on the barren mountains of his hometown.

The deep mountain reclamation village has changed.
A few days ago, the reporter came to Daijiaping Village, Shixi Town, Qianwei County. in the mountains more than 500 meters above sea level, a newly hardened cement road winds its way into the mountains like a ribbon.
The autumn is crisp and the air is fresh in the mountains. At the top of a hill next to the highway stands a sign with the words "support Base for the disabled in Jianwei County". It says that the main person in charge, Xu Shangwei, is a third-level disability. Standing on the mountain, the eyes are green, the taro in the terraced fields is growing luxuriantly, and the rows of the taro land are the future protagonists of this land-tea trees, which have been planted for only more than a year, and the tea seedlings are still very small.
Walking along the road to the mountains, one by one on the top of the mountain, we can see that large tracts of newly reclaimed terraces are all planted with tea seedlings, and some are interplanted with winter beans, plum trees, gardenia trees and so on. Along the way, some people are weeding tea trees, some are pruning tea trees, some are building climbing steps, and some are continuing to harden roads up the mountain. Xu Shangwei acts as an on-site commander in the construction crowd of hardened highways. His right foot is a little bumpy when walking, but he is very able to speak and do things. The current infrastructure construction is a key step in his blueprint for becoming rich in mountainous areas.
"in the past, there was no industry in our village, and the ripe soil was used to grow traditional corn, red potherb, and rape, mostly barren mountains overgrown with weeds. When the road was not completed, the bamboo and trees on the mountain could not be pulled out and sold, and the income of farmers was relatively low. " Chen Lin, director of Daijiaping Village, said that these conditions have gradually changed since villager Xu Shangwei returned to his hometown in early 2014 to develop the tea industry.
Perseverance to accumulate venture capital
At lunchtime, while the workers were taking a break for dinner, Xu Shangwei sat down to talk to the reporter. Xu Shangwei, 41, is currently chairman of Shixi Senmao Tea planting Professional Cooperative in Jianwei County, assistant to the director of Daijiaping Village, and chairman of the Village disabled Persons' Federation. He was born into a poor peasant family in Daijiaping Village. When he was 8 months old, he suffered from polio due to a high fever. His parents spent everything they had and borrowed money to cure him, but he left sequelae. His right leg was permanently disabled, the soles of his feet were severely deformed, and the soles of his feet were facing up. When Xu Shangwei was 9, 12 and 14 years old, he underwent three operations in hospitals in Chengdu and Leshan. The sole of his foot was turned over, and he finally threw away the stick and was able to walk on his own.

After graduating from junior high school, he was admitted to Jianwei County Secondary Health Vocational School. After three years of study and graduation, he set up a medicine stall at home to treat others. Due to the excellent specialty, the price of medicine is not expensive, more and more people see a doctor, and a year later they opened a clinic to help their families pay off their debts. In the process of practicing medicine, Xu Shangwei treated the lonely elderly and poor families free of charge. As the competition became more and more fierce, he closed the clinic, went out to work, and built bridges with concrete on the Gobi Desert. However, the heavy manual work made him unbearable as a disabled person, and after a year of work, Xu Shangwei had to return home.
"Life is hard, but it always goes on." The hope in Xu Shangwei's heart has never been extinguished, and the pace of pursuing and creating a better life has never stagnated. He has successively opened a hot-stamping shop in Muchuan County, done business in buying bamboo and trees in the countryside, opened teahouses and restaurants in Kuang County, and worked as a country chef. Later, he also taught himself legal knowledge, and now works as a legal adviser for a coal mine and buys a truck for the transportation business.
"I do business whenever I see it, as long as it is legal." During the struggle, Xu Shangwei also experienced some tribulations and twists and turns, and sometimes he was discouraged. For example, on one occasion, due to inexperience and local traffic restrictions, he lost 20,000 to 30,000 yuan at a time. The rich and tortuous life experience has refined Xu Shangwei's spirit of self-improvement and indomitable character. In 2010, his economic conditions began to improve, and diversification led him to accumulate rich funds.
Physically disabled and determined to prop up the sky
At present, Xu Shangwei's family has a 90-year-old grandfather and parents over 60, plus his wife and children, the whole family is very lively. "although Xu Shangwei has brothers, he has taken the initiative to support the family's grandfather and parents, no matter when the family was financially poor or now the economy is improving. I admire this very much. " According to Chen Lin, Xu Shangwei was rated as the "advanced individual of filial piety and respect for the elderly" in the village.
For Xu Shangwei, he supported not only his extended family, but also the industrial development of the whole village. Since February 2014, in memory of the local villagers, Xu Shangwei returned to his hometown to contract the land of the village to grow tea, introducing two fine tea varieties, Mingshan 131 and Fuding Dabai, to plant. In September 2014, with the support of the local party committee and government, Xu Shangwei established a professional cooperative for tea planting in Shixi Senmao, Jianwei County.
"now, there are a lot of tea growers, so we talk about quality and win by quality. We grow organic tea, do not use herbicides, and use biological insect control. " Xu Shangwei has already figured out the way to win in the fierce competition. Agricultural technicians from the county agricultural bureau and the township government also sent technical support to the cooperatives, held a number of training, and taught tea planting and management techniques.
Up to now, Xu Shangwei has contracted more than 1400 mu of land, which is mainly used for planting tea trees, planting plum trees, sweet-scented osmanthus trees, gardenia and other cash crops, and building 15 reservoirs, 2 fish ponds, 1 pig farm and 1 workshop. Xu Shangwei not only built and hardened the roads needed for the development of the tea industry in the village, but also donated more than 400,000 yuan to help harden the construction of more than three kilometers of village-level roads, benefiting the villagers of the whole village to varying degrees.
"Today, there are more than 100 workers working on Chashan every day, including 40 disabled people in and around the village, which has led to the employment of 150 workers in the surrounding areas for a long time, with a per capita monthly labor income of about 2000 yuan." Xu Shangwei said that in addition to paying wages for migrant workers, he also pays a monthly subsidy of 100 yuan to each disabled person who works in a cooperative.
"as a disabled person, I deeply feel the love and warmth of the party and the state for the disabled." Standing at the top of the mountain, Xu Shangwei depicts a blueprint for future development: the next step is to expand the industrial base, promote the industrial development of the whole village, build tea processing plants, rely on the tea industry to carry out rural tourism, and build a 100-mu pheasant farm. We will strive to solve the employment of nearly 1000 people, including 300 disabled people, to build a better hometown and help more people shake off poverty and become rich.
