The picture shows Jiang holding a healthy little pig, feeling happy.

Jiang Jiao, a pig farmer in Lingxia Village, Yangcun Town, Boluo County, Guangdong Province, has been dealing with pigs since childhood. He summed up the experience of raising pigs: pig-oriented. Jiang Jiao said that his pig welfare is very good. He lives in an air-conditioned room, drinks clean water, eats whole grains and breathes fresh air in the mountains. He thinks that only in this way can healthy pigs be raised.

The excreta is isolated from the pigsty and there is no smell in the pig farm.

Jiang Jiao's pig farm is located in a mountain nest in the village. the area is not large, only a few rows of houses. Walk into the pig farm, basically can not smell anything strange, each row of houses are installed with water cooling equipment and huge blast equipment. "my pig lives in a 'small foreign house' and enjoys a constant temperature all the year round." Jiang Jiao said happily.

After careful disinfection, Jiang Jiao opened a small room. Unlike the common pigsty, the ground of this pigsty is a grille. He said that the place where the pig lives is actually on the second floor, and the excrement will fall into the next layer of water through the grille. The odor of excreta is separated by water, which is not easy to emit, and the rest is blown away by the blower. Therefore, the pigsty has no peculiar smell.

As the pig excrement falls to the next floor, the pigsty is clean and dry, so there is no need to clean the pigsty every day, and the labor intensity has been reduced a lot. A clean pigsty makes pigs much less likely to be infected with germs. "if the pigsty is not flushed, the pig will be healthier." These theories were learned by Chiang Kai-shek specially in Germany. After each batch of pigs were raised, he would thoroughly clean and disinfect the pigsty, waiting for the next batch of pigs to arrive.

Growing up in a pig farm, I lost money on raising pigs for the first time.

Jiang Jiao is from Hubei. In the 1970s, his father raised pigs on a state-run farm in Hubei. As a result, he also grew up in a pig farm and had a strong affection for pigs. Jiang Jiao said that at that time, his father raised more than 200 pigs alone, which were specially sold to Hong Kong, and the feeding standards were very high. He stayed in the pig farm all day, helped his father raise pigs after school, and knew the whole process of raising pigs very well.

In 1997, Jiang followed his father's career and chose to raise pigs in Huizhou. He thinks that the climate in Huizhou is better, not as cold as the winter in his hometown, and pigs can survive the winter well without special heat preservation measures.

It was not plain sailing for Jiang to raise pigs. In 2004, his pigs suffered from "blue ear disease" and most of them died. When the pig got sick, Jiang Jiao didn't sell a pig for a year, and he lost a lot of money. Jiang was not convinced. In 2009, he came to Lingxia Village and rented 1000 mu of mountain to continue his pig raising career.

Jiang's idea of raising pigs well stems from an incident that happened to his classmates. Jiang's classmates worked out of town, and one year, there was a "problem pork" incident. The investigation found that it was caused by the addition of too many additives in pig feed. The classmate told Jiang Jiao that he wanted to eat reassuring meat and hoped that he could raise some "safe pigs" without adding hormones or antibiotics. As a result, Jiang Jiao came up with the idea of raising pigs well.

Build a waste recycling system and use biogas slurry as fertilizer.

In 2014, Jiang visited and studied in Germany to learn how Germans raise pigs. When he came back, he built a two-story pig pen and a closed pig farm in the mountain nest according to the German pig-raising model. "the cost of building this kind of pigsty is relatively high, up to 1000 yuan per square meter. An ordinary pigsty costs only more than 300 yuan per square meter. " Jiang Jiao said.

Using the technology learned from Germany, coupled with his own traditional experience, Jiang Jiao built a recycling system of pig waste.

A layer of "blister dung" in the pigsty, fermented for a certain period of time, will be discharged into the biogas digester, which can be used for cooking, biogas slurry can be used for watering vegetables, and biogas dregs can also be used as fertilizer. Every year, he pumped the biogas residue to the mountain to be used as fertilizer. "the mountains here are relatively barren, and it is not enough for biogas slurry to be pumped up to the mountains. They are all 'digested' by themselves." Jiang Jiao said that with fertilizer, the trees grow lush, and the air in the mountains becomes cleaner and fresher, which is also a good thing for pigs.

Sell pork online, customers as far away as Guangzhou and Shanghai

In addition to the high cost of building pig farms, Jiang Jiao also has high requirements for pig feed. "the whole grains eaten by pigs should be up to the standard that people can eat." Jiang Jiao said that in order to prevent the feed from being contaminated, after being crushed, the feed was automatically put into the pigsty on time and no longer passed through manpower. Finding good feed is also the biggest headache for Chiang Kai-shek. He hopes that his pigs can eat safe feed. "if you eat good feed, the pig will be in good health and will have strong disease resistance." In order to take good care of pigs, Jiang Jiao hired a veterinarian. "if you don't cure the disease, you don't have to cure the disease," Jiang Jiao believes. Pigs should be brought under control as soon as there are problems, so that pigs don't need to take antibiotics.

Due to the high requirements for facilities and feed, the low price last year cost him a lot of money. "the loss per pig is about 500 yuan, which is much more than that of others." Although he made less money, Jiang Jiao insisted on going his own way. In addition to regular sales channels, he also cooperates with friends to sell pork on the Internet and deliver it to customers' homes within 24 hours. Today, he has clients in Guangzhou and Shanghai.
