With fashionable red hair and light makeup, at first glance, Chen Mu never thought of connecting this beautiful young girl with raising sheep. Chen Mu, 26, originally opened a beauty salon in Zhuhai. last year, in order to support her father's business, she gave up her business with an annual income of more than NT $100,000, and followed her father Chen Xinsheng to Rao Village, Yueyang County, where she took advantage of the rich local natural resources. concentrate on raising wild goats to make the silent mountain countryside coruscate vigor and vitality.

Raising sheep to help my father start a business

At sunset on October 12, 2015, on the hilltop of a famous group in Raocun Township, Yueyang County, 26-year-old Chen Muyang whipped and drove the sheep home.

She didn't say that no one knew that the shepherd girl turned out to be a beauty girl. Chen Mu, who graduated from a technical secondary school, went south to work in the beauty industry. In 2012, she raised money to open a small beauty salon in Zhuhai with relatives. The shop is small, but the business is good, and it can make a profit of 10,000 to 20,000 a month, that is, more than one hundred thousand a year. Surprisingly, when business was booming, Chen Mu chose not to do it and went back to his hometown to help his father Chen Xinsheng raise sheep.

Talking about the reasons for giving up business and going home to start a business, Chen Mu told reporters that she is a very homesick who grew up in the mountains and did not like the days of wandering in big cities.

Chen Mu's father, Chen Xinsheng, once raised black goats in Rao Village, because the village was inconvenient, sparsely populated, and basically cut off from the outside world. the superior ecological environment allowed the black goats to grow healthily all the time. A few years ago, there was never any disease. Whenever the black goat comes out of the fence, it is in short supply! However, the good times did not last long. In the fourth year of breeding, Chen Xinsheng found that the number of sheep was getting smaller and smaller every time he herded sheep. It turns out that the missing black goat is the work of a wild boar. The wild boars in the mountains are flocks and have mixed eating habits, and basically eat whatever they can eat. No matter whether the black goat is big or small, as long as it falls into the hands of a wild boar, it will be eaten up by its skin and flesh.

"Dad worked so hard alone in the mountains that sometimes the goat was lost and he didn't have time to look for it." Chen Mu said that once her father found that more than 50 goats were missing, only blood was seen at the top of the mountain, there was no meat left on the sheep, and all of them were eaten by wild boars. "this time he lost so much that he almost lost all his money, and my father gave up."

Build roads and houses, invest 200,000 to 300,000 yuan to start a business

Seeing that her father's entrepreneurship was frustrated, her daughter Chen Mu felt pain in her eyes and in her heart, and she always felt that she should do something for her father. In August 2014, in order to support her father's sheep business, she resolutely gave up the beauty business and returned to her hometown to help her father start a business.

Abandoning the prosperity of the city, Chen Mu returned to his hometown where he had nothing. Half of the old house in the mountains collapsed, and the weeds on the path into the village grew knee-high.

Building roads and houses is the most important thing for Chen Mu to return to his hometown. She invested all the 200, 000 or 300, 000 yuan she earned from outside, built several small bungalows on the mountain and leveled the road in front of her home.

Rao Village Township where Chen Mu is located is located in the southwest of Yueyang County, with hills as the main topography and 71% of the area of mountains and forests. Surrounded by green mountains, two large basins have been formed. The ecological environment is very good, regardless of air, water quality or soil are very suitable for breeding, evergreen forest vegetation is also a natural resource that can be used. With the help of my father's breeding experience, as long as we overcome the infringement of wild boars, the breeding cause is very considerable.

How to prevent goats from being eaten by wild boars? Chen Mu looked for countermeasures through the Internet, and according to his living habits, he learned that wild boars generally do not come out and move around during the day, usually looking for food in the morning and dusk. As long as we avoid the period of wild boar activity and build a sheep house in the form of a hanging foot building on the hillside, the infringement can be effectively prevented. Just do it, father and daughter personally, using local materials, a short period of two months to complete the infrastructure construction of the farm.

Take the sheep's whip and become a shepherdess.

After everything was in place, she and her father bought about 70 goats, some chickens, ducks and geese, and started a rural entrepreneurial life. When doing cosmetology in the past, Chen Mu paid special attention to the maintenance of his face and skin. Since she took over the sheep whip from her father, she chose the "bigger stage" at the top of the field, her face blackened and her hands rough.

"all the animals we raise are stocked, and there is basically no need to spend any feed. The goats are released in the morning, and they will come back one after another after 4 o'clock in the evening." Chen Mu said that she occasionally ran into some disobedient late-returning goats, and she wanted to chase them all over the mountains with a sheep whip.

In order to better raise goats, Chen Mu also carefully studied the calls of goats. "they will express their emotions in different voices. When they are hungry, they want to go out. The little goats can't be found. When they encounter dangerous panic cries, I can basically understand the meaning of their different cries." Chen Mu said that in the mountain village where she now lives, there used to be about 20 families, but later all of them moved out, leaving only her and her father to live on the mountain. When her father went out to have something to do, she was left alone on the mountain.

"living in this beautiful pastoral scenery every day, eating pollution-free vegetables and firewood eggs and breathing fresh air, I feel very happy." Growing up in the mountains, Chen Mu doesn't think there's anything wrong with spending time alone in the mountains. "I don't feel lonely. There are lambs, chickens and ducks and a dog with me every day."

In Chen Mu's entrepreneurial vision, raising goats is just the beginning. Her future dream is to open a local leisure villa so that people in the city can come to the countryside for a holiday, see the pastoral scenery, taste the game, and relax.
