Wild geese raised in Xigou rare Poultry Farm.

On October 14, walking into the rare bird breeding garden in Xigou Village, Kongtong Town, Kongtong District, a colorful kingdom of rare birds appeared in front of the reporter. The feathered pheasants chased each other, the beautiful blue peacock walked gracefully, and Chicken Wings and Legs with Brown Sauce was cooing for food.

"I have been raising rare birds for three years. There are mainly rare birds such as peacocks, wild geese, Chicken Wings and Legs with Brown Sauce, and red-bellied pheasants. Just a few days ago, a batch of rare birds came out. At present, there are still nearly 3000 birds in the farm." Zhai Tao, the person in charge of Xigou Village rare Poultry Farm, told reporters.

Zhai Tao, 37, a native of Xigou Village, Kongtong Town, took a chance to go out to work. He saw that with the improvement of people's living standards, the demand for rare birds is increasing, and the production of rare birds is more, the benefit is high, and the market prospect is broad. He has a strong interest in rare poultry farming. So in 2009, he started from Chicken Wings and Legs with Brown Sauce, tried small-scale farming, and gradually tasted the sweetness of raising rare birds. In May 2013, after the coordination of the town and village, Zhai Tao, relying on the former site of Xigou Primary School, made use of more than 40 abandoned school buildings and invested 1 million yuan to establish a professional cooperative for rare poultry farmers in Xigou, Pingliang City. to carry out the breeding, breeding, hatching and promotion of rare birds.

"pheasants and Chicken Wings and Legs with Brown Sauce can be sold for 120 yuan each, and wild geese for 600 yuan each. Mountain eggs and imperial concubine eggs also sell well in big supermarkets!" Zhai Tao told reporters that because these rare birds are raised purely naturally, they are favored by surrounding restaurants and tourists, and their annual sales revenue can reach more than 800,000 yuan.

Rare poultry farming has made the life of Zhai Tao's family more and more nourishing. When talking about his plans for the next step, he is full of confidence. "our village is close to the Kongtong Mountain Scenic spot, and we have a unique advantage. Next year, I plan to expand the scale and develop more villagers to manage together. Get rich together!"
