After planting for more than 10 years, he went to work in Daqing, worked as a stevedore, engaged in aquaculture, ran a construction engineering company, and retired from Daqing Vocational College. In 2010, when he heard that his hometown was attracting investment, he discussed with his wife and returned to his hometown to invest in setting up a beef cattle breeding and processing enterprise.

"at such an old age, just enjoy some peace and happiness, just have enough to eat and drink." Some relatives and friends advised him, "besides, there is no need to go to that remote place if you want to find a place near the edge of the city or with convenient transportation." But Lao Ma said that this is to kill three birds with one stone, first, to respond to the call of the local government, second, to realize my long-cherished wish to repay my hometown parents for many years, and third, to start a business after retirement to realize the sunset.

The company covers an area of 13000 square meters and a construction area of 3119 square meters. It has advanced cowshed, factory and workshop facilities, processing, segmentation, packaging and other equipment automation. It has launched an one-stop production line of green breeding, processing and sales, with a total investment of more than 10 million yuan, including fixed assets of 9 million yuan and working capital of 1 million yuan. The main breeds of beef cattle are Simendar and Charolais, with an annual breeding capacity of 500 heads and an annual output of 400 heads, with an output value of 10 million yuan. It is the most advanced beef cattle breeding and processing enterprise in Zhaodong and even Suihua at present.

At the beginning of the establishment of the field, Ma Zongchang invited a professor at Northeast Agricultural University to provide full planning and guidance. After that, he hired a doctoral supervisor at Bayi Agricultural University to work at the enterprise site on weekends, or through video consultation and guidance, and he also taught himself the scientific breeding technology of beef cattle and the knowledge of modern enterprise management through the network. to meet the reality and development needs of the company. Ma Deshun, the second son of Lao Ma, graduated from Harbin Medical University. in order to make the enterprise develop to a higher level, he left his son with him, using the enterprise as an employment base and a platform for young people to display their talents, and father and son started a business together.

Gradually, the enterprise has formed three major business features based on "stupid maintenance", with processing and acid drainage as the premise, and market sales as the forerunner.

In the characteristics of breeding, the implementation of management, fattening, varieties, feed, epidemic prevention and disease control, processing and marketing "six unity". With the implementation of green farming, the company has set up two designated bases to breed calves. The cowshed has central heating in winter, the four seasons are well ventilated, the floor is covered with wood, and the manure is discharged into the biogas digester through dark discharge for harmless treatment; drinking deep well pollution-free water, feed without any additives, fed with high-quality Leymus chinensis, self-processed soybean powder, corn flour, carrots and distiller's grains to ensure adequate nutrients and multivitamins. Barns, fields, instruments and personnel are also disinfected regularly and operated by full-time veterinarians.

In terms of processing characteristics, it has gone through six links: slaughtering, segmentation, acid discharge, packaging, quick freezing and refrigeration. Strictly abide by the relevant regulations of the state and strictly control the slaughtering quality. Tested by quality and technical supervision and other authoritative departments, "Prairie Xiang" brand beef, with delicate texture, high-end varieties, rich in unsaturated fatty acids, free amino acids and other nutrients, has reached the green food standard.

In terms of sales characteristics, with the help of the continuous improvement of people's living standards, the gradual change of dietary structure, and the popularity of green pollution-free food, the company invested a lot of human, material and financial resources to participate in market competition. Implement the three-step business strategy of entering the supermarket, breaking into high-end hotels and setting up their own marketing stores, comprehensively promote the company's products, and vigorously promote green brands. The products have been sold to Daqing, Harbin, Beijing, Shanghai and other large and medium-sized cities.

The white road with a length of 2 kilometers was built in just over two months with an investment of 600000 yuan. On the day of opening and cutting the ribbon, people beat gongs and drums, set off firecrackers, and put on big red flowers for the hero "Commander Niu". The villagers said, "with this road in the past two years, we will no longer worry that we will not be able to walk the car, get out of the door, sell melons and vegetables, or do business in summer. We will never forget the great deeds of Lao Ma."

At present, chemical fertilizers are used year after year, the land is consolidated, the residue of harmful substances exceeds the standard, and some poor households rely on loans to buy chemical fertilizer year after year. Lao Ma took the initiative to consult with village cadres and selected 20 households with relatively poor living conditions to "deliver dung to his door." No matter who the villagers are, they can transport cow dung to the company at any time, and he charges nothing. Some people have calculated that if only cow dung is given free of charge, each household can save nearly 2000 yuan.

Since the company has been operating for more than a year, hundreds of farmers have come to visit and study, and more than 10 households have raised more than 30 cattle, and some farmers plan to increase the value of grain by raising cattle, so as to achieve a virtuous circle of farming and become rich.

It is Ma Zongchang's wish to drive more farmers to join the ranks of raising through the company and to drive farmers to get rich together.
