"it is necessary to achieve an one-stop process of planting, processing and sales so as to achieve a deep integration of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries." On October 20, at the Chinese herbal medicine planting base in Zhaoshangjing Village, Baixiang County, Zhao Xiantao, a village official of the post-80s generation, pointed to the well-growing Chinese herbal medicines.

In 2012, Zhao Xiantao quit his high-paying job in a large dairy company in the provincial capital and returned to Zhao Shangjing Village in Baixiang County to become director of the village committee with the impulse of youth to build his hometown. As soon as he returned to the village, Zhao Xiantao went from house to house to visit the people to understand the situation of the village. After a comprehensive understanding of the situation in the village, in order to help people shake off poverty and become rich, Zhao Xiantao decided to find a project with strong demonstration, low investment and short income period to start a business.

By chance, Zhao Xiantao was inspired by a piece of news on TV about the development of eco-efficient agriculture. After more than half a year of investigation and analysis, he decided to open a breakthrough in the cultivation of traditional Chinese medicine. He transferred 50 mu of land that year and conducted experiments on the production of two kinds of Chinese medicinal materials, Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz and Pinellia ternata. "although the technology is not very mature, it still generates more than 3000 yuan per mu of land, which is nearly four times that of traditional crops." Growing medicinal materials in the first year caused great repercussions in the local area, and the villagers and even the people in the surrounding villages initially approved the project.

In 2013, Zhao Xiantao then transferred 50 mu of land to plant traditional Chinese medicine. "you can't start a business rashly. You should do it step by step and grow bigger from an early age." After planting for two years and seeing that the income of traditional Chinese medicine was stable, Zhao Xiantao decided to expand the planting scale and set up a Tedelong traditional Chinese medicine cooperative. At present, more than 90 villagers have joined the cooperative, and more than 1000 mu of land has been transferred. It has become one of the 100 "demonstration bases for planting Chinese medicinal materials" in the province. He also signed a contract with a company in Anguo, and the herbs were ordered by customers as soon as they were harvested.

There are also unknown hardships in the process of starting a business. In the initial cultivation of traditional Chinese medicine, due to the wrong medicine, resulting in 50 mu of Atractylodes macrocephala died; the transfer of land also encountered the masses do not understand, said that he is a little baby, do not know the depth. However, all this is over. After the harvest of traditional Chinese medicine last year, Zhao Xiantao distributed the money to the villagers according to the contract of joining the society, and everyone smiled from ear to ear.

Zhao Xiantao is not satisfied with the current situation, and he is also committed to developing agriculture, the primary industry, into a "sixth industry", that is, the integration of primary, secondary and tertiary industries to achieve an one-stop process of planting, processing and sales. " To this end, Zhao Xiantao established Tedelong Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. After investigation and market analysis, he decided to try to make mulberry leaf tea on the basis of the good development of the traditional Chinese medicine project, and built a 200-mu demonstration garden of high-protein mulberry. "the profit of tea is higher than that of medicinal materials. Mulberry leaves are made into tea without pesticides, which is in line with people's pursuit of natural green food. We call it longevity tea." Zhao Xiantao said that now the company is applying to the relevant departments for certification standards for longevity tea. Soon, longevity tea will be sold on the market.
