The university is the only undergraduate major in bee science in Asia.

In the summer of 2002, Xiong Jian was admitted by Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, which was the only undergraduate bee major in Asia at that time. When he was in college, Xiong Jian spent most of his spare time selling home-grown honey. "to be honest, sometimes it takes a lot of effort to sell only one bottle in one night, which makes many students worry about the future." Xiong Jian told the reporter that now, only he and one classmate in the class still insist on the bee major, and the others have already changed careers.

So how can we sell honey? With such doubts, Xiong Jian decided not to do business like his brothers and sisters, but to find the right time and place to turn the crisis into business opportunities.

Starting a business from setting up a stall at the school gate to setting up a booth

Xiong Jian found that near the holiday, students always like to bring gifts to their parents. Before the summer vacation of sophomore year, Xiong Jian set up a stall in front of the school supermarket to sell honey. In just three hours, Xiong Jian sold more than 500 bottles and earned 15000 yuan. This is hundreds of times the sales of honey during door-to-door sales. Before the winter vacation that year, Xiong Jian set up a booth in the center of the school dormitory area to sell honey and earned more than 40,000 yuan in more than 10 days.

After that, Xiong Jian devoted himself to selling honey. he rented a facade in the school and opened the honey market with self-made stickers. From losing money at the beginning to earning ten thousand a month, and then expanding the store. In less than two years, Xiong Jian opened four honey stores and four counters in several supermarkets, with an annual income of more than 100000 yuan.

The turning point invested millions and made a comeback after losing money.

After that, Xiong Jian wants to have his own "honey kingdom". He transferred honey stores and counters on campus, set up a honey processing factory in Yunnan, which has a long flowering period and many varieties of flowers, and set up several sales stores in Kunming with almost all his wealth.

However, due to the uneven quality of honey raw materials, the production of bee products, taste is not good, millions of yuan of investment has been wasted. Xiong Jian realized that if you want to do big business, you need a sound business strategy.

He found that the reason for the low quality of Yunnan real estate honey raw materials is that in addition to the backward production technology, the circulation link may also be adulterated by traders. Xiong Jian bought a beekeeping farm in Wenshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province, and "transformed" it with university expertise, greatly reducing the content of antibiotics in honey raw materials and increasing the honey collection period from the previous two to eight. Then he joined hands with 25 beekeeping farms in various cities to set up cooperatives, thus obtaining high product quality and stable production capacity.

Then, Xiong Jian found 10 honey manufacturers across the country and gave the wholesale price of honey raw materials, which is even two yuan lower than the cost price per kilogram. Over the past year, with excellent quality, Bear Sword's bee products have won customers and sold well all the way.

In 2011, Xiong Jian established a modern honey factory, set up its own brand, set up counters in several shopping malls in Kunming, opened up online business, and began to make the whole industry chain of honey products from raw materials to processing and then to sales. In 2014, his honey brand ushered in an explosive sales node, with sales tripling compared with the same period last year. This year, Xiong Jian's company achieved sales revenue of more than 40 million yuan, entered the top three of Yunnan counterparts, and achieved its own "honey kingdom".

In return, he wants to do the deep processing of grapefruit in his hometown Fengdu.

Although Xiong Jian became rich in his family in Yunnan, he never forgot his hometown. Xiong Jian told reporters that he is building a deep processing project of Hongxin pomelo in Fengdu.

It turns out that every year around the Spring Festival, Fengdu will produce a large number of red heart pomelo. But the price has always been its deficiency, when it is cheap, no one cares about 3 yuan per jin. By chance, Xiong Jian heard that making grapefruit into pomelo tea can sell for hundreds of yuan a can, so why can't grapefruit in his hometown be packaged for deep processing?

Xiong Jian plans to serve his hometown with his practical actions. "I intend to do deep processing of agricultural products, which will drive upstream production and help farmers in my hometown get rich." In Fengdu County Industrial Park, Xiong Jian's factory is carrying out installation and commissioning of related equipment, and is expected to produce the first batch of honey grapefruit tea by the end of the year.
