Feeding raw grain, eating Cordyceps, and adding some Chinese herbal medicine, Tao farmer Jiang Xingguo raised chickens to raise a new name, and the ecological chickens raised under the forest sold for 30 yuan per jin and eggs for 15 yuan per jin, becoming a "fighter" in the chicken ring.

Walking into the Qizhuang Shawo Forest Farm in Chenji Town, Dingtao County, there are staggered chicken sheds with blue tiles and white walls in the woods south of the road. More than 10,000 firewood chickens are walking leisurely in the forest, either pecking or singing. This is the well-known probiotic chicken farm. Jiang Xingguo, the director of the field, is over years old. He has planted flowers and trees and poured eggs. More than a decade ago, he raised laying hens in Xinji, Peony District, and accumulated a certain amount of wealth. Later, after listening to a friend's introduction that there was a large area of free woodland in Shawo Forest Farm, Jiang Xingguo changed his mind to raise firewood chickens.

In 2008, Jiang Xingguo began renting woodland at Savo Forest Farm to raise chickens, which is far from the village, with large grounds, fresh air and shady Cordyceps sinensis. The chicken farm covers an area of more than 70 mu, and he has carefully selected local "stupid chickens" and "native chickens" to raise them, from a few simple sheds at first to more than 10 high-standard henhouses at present, and from one or two thousand commercial chickens to four crops of forty to fifty thousand a year. In addition to local sales, some of the firewood chickens and eggs are also exported to Beijing and Dalian, with annual benefits of hundreds of thousands of yuan. At this point, Jiang Xingguo has become a veritable "chicken king" in Dingtao County.

During this period, Jiang Xingguo's chicken farmers encountered bird flu, and like other farmers, they were completely wiped out because they did not pay attention to epidemic prevention at that time. Half a year later, Jiang Xingguo regained his strength and disinfected the chicken farm inside and outside. 5000 new chickens were introduced and persevered.

Jiang Xingguo raises chickens on the basis of ecology and health. He insists on directional hatching of eggs, which first ensures the health of young chickens. In order to improve the nutritional value of Chai chicken, Jiang Xingguo also consulted a number of nutrition experts and veteran Chinese medicine practitioners to crush 11 Chinese herbs, such as Angelica sinensis, Codonopsis pilosula, Bupleurum, licorice, and honeysuckle, into powder and add 1.5% to the chicken feed, which can not only prevent Chai chicken from getting sick, but also improve the quality of chicken meat.

In order to increase the benefit, Jiang Xingguo disposed of the poplar trees with poor benefits and replaced them with catalpa trees with better benefit prospects. in addition to allowing the chickens to change the market at a fixed time, he also used insect trapping lamps to attract insects in spring, summer and autumn, and often used rotary tillers to spin the ground, so that chickens could eat underground insects and superficial worms, so as to achieve the goal of raising trees without insects and grass under the forest and chicken dung.

"the laying hen will be eliminated in the second year. It eats more and lays fewer eggs, but this kind of firewood chicken is very popular in Beijing. When it is expensive, it sells for 30 yuan per jin." As soon as Jiang Xingguo talked about his chicken raising classics, he immediately looked excited: "We pay attention to the hygiene of the area, regular epidemic prevention, good chicken quality and good market. generally speaking, we make an appointment by telephone and order one batch in two or three months."

As the saying goes, "peers are enemies," but Jiang Xingguo does not see it this way. he believes that goods are sold in a pile of mountains, and only by breaking into the market together can we achieve common prosperity. He widely spread the experience of raising chickens, led the masses to set up professional cooperatives for raising chickens, followed the path of "farming bases + cooperatives + farmers", and successively helped 12 farmers onto the road to prosperity. Each household raised more than 3000 chickens, and the annual income could be increased by more than 60,000 yuan. At present, Jiang Xingguo has signed a long-term cooperation agreement with a large supermarket in Heze, and commercial chickens and eggs are purchased by the company's protected price, which greatly relieves chicken farmers of their worries.
