I heard that some people transplant sugarcane from the south to the north of Liao. for such a rare thing, the reporter also wants to find out. On October 15, the reporter came to the sugarcane garden of Yu Hongwei, Xiaoming Village, Xiaoming Town, Diaobingshan City, and saw a large area of mature sugarcane red in purple, all round and sturdy, and the villagers who heard the news gathered and tasted happily.

"they are all home-grown, and there are absolutely no pesticides. Eat and chew as you like, and you can take care of them." Yu Hongwei warmly greeted the villagers and friends who came to harvest.

According to Yu Hongwei, his sugarcane orchard has a total of 3 mu of land, with about 960 sugarcane seedlings per mu, 4 tillers per plant, and nearly 4000 sugarcane per mu. In the case of severe drought this year, the plant height is still more than 2 meters.

Sugarcane is a subtropical plant, there is a saying that sugarcane cannot cross the river. "can sugarcane from the south be planted in the north?" In the face of the reporter's doubts, Yu Hongwei said very well: "in northern Liaoning, the summer light is longer, and the temperature difference between day and night is large, which is conducive to the accumulation of sugarcane nutrients and sugar transformation. The sugar juice is even richer than the southern sugarcane, and the sugarcane skin is super tender. The market is also 20 to 30 days earlier than that of southern sugarcane."

"of course, after all, it is planted in the south and planted in the north, and the joint bone is still much less than that in the south, but the length of the joint bone is dominant." Yu Hongwei added not without regret.

Yu Hongwei also promoted his new use of sugarcane with great interest: "this sugarcane plant has four roots planted in a flowerpot to grow into a plant, decorated with living rooms, hotel lobbies, shopping and entertainment places, which is a beautiful southern landscape."

Yu Hongwei, 44, is a thoughtful man who has spent his spare time planting and breeding for many years. He says it is a pleasure to deal with black land. Transplanting crops from the south to the north has been his dream for many years, and planting sugarcane has become his first choice. In August last year, Yu Hongwei rented a farm of nearly 100 mu southwest of Xiaoming Village, Xiaoming Town, and started raising Tibetan pigs, forest frogs and fishing. The farmland of the farm was early in Hong Wei's plan, and this year, Yu Hongwei selected 3 mu of land to try to grow sugarcane. From the transplanting of sugarcane seedlings on April 15, the temperature and humidity were controlled by plastic film and arch film successively, and entered the field management similar to that of crops in the north in late May. Yu Hongwei carefully "takes care of" this "guest" from the south every day. The basic fertilizer is fermented manure from chicken manure on the farm. Worms must be treated completely manually, and pesticides are never applied. At most, there are more than 20 workers picking insects.

After about 6 months of nourishment of the fertile black soil in northern Liaoning, the sugarcane planted by Yu Hongwei has reached the time of harvest. Since the park opened on October 7, pickers from Tieling, Shenyang, Anshan, Fushun and even Changchun and Siping have heard that sugarcane is produced here, so they all come curiously to have a taste. Yu Hongwei was immersed in the sweetness of people picking in the sugarcane garden.

The reporter asked how was the market? Yu Hongwei confidently estimated that according to the calculation of 6 to 8 yuan each, excluding the cost, it would be no problem to earn 10,000 yuan per mu.
