A few days ago, the author walked into the quail farm in Toudun Village, Jinji Town, Tianchang City, and saw Miao Lijuan and her husband Huang Chunlong feeding the little quail and cleaning the farm. At present, the farm has raised more than 60,000 quails in three batches.

Miao Lijuan, 27, left her hometown in Wuxi with her father Miao Zhongze in June this year and came to Toudun Village, Jinji Town, to set up camp. She invested more than 30,000 yuan to lease 10 rural idle houses and 48 houses as a quail farm, and invested 150000 yuan to buy more than 40 iron cage quail houses and more than 20, 000 quail seedlings from Jiangyin quail breeding base in Jiangsu Province. After two months, they can lay eggs and breed. The local power supply department has renovated and renovated the dilapidated power lines of its farms. They also bought high-quality special feed for quails from Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province, and the couple got up early in the morning and worked late at night to feed the quails twice on time, cleaning, disinfection and epidemic prevention, debugging and controlling the indoor temperature, etc., so that the survival rate of quails reached more than 96%.

Hard work has brought the joy of a bumper harvest. At present, it is the peak season for their quail eggs on the market. Now they sell about 700 jin of quail eggs every day, and the market is in short supply. Miao Lijuan said that when the quail laying period is over, quails can be sold on the market for 1 yuan each, and quail droppings are sold to local grape and vegetable farmers for organic fertilizer, which is also a considerable income. over the past year, her family has raised more than 60, 000 quails, with a net income of 120000 yuan. When the cash flow is better, the scale of quail farming will be expanded.
