"I've been raising pigs for years." Wang Dongwei turned his head and told reporters while putting feed into the automatic feeding trough. He, who lives in Shijiaogou Village, Guojiadian Town, Lishu County, has been raising pigs for nearly 10 years, and now his family can produce more than 400 pigs every year, with considerable economic benefits.

When it comes to raising pigs, Wang Dongwei always has endless topics. "it's been honed over the years, and I'm getting more and more familiar with the business." Wang Dongwei, 28 years old this year, not only has the momentum of a young man, but also has the maturity and stability of the post-80s generation. How did this simple young man embark on the breeding road? The reporter began to chat with Wang Dongwei with doubts.

Wang Dongwei, who was playful since childhood, had not yet graduated from high school because of his poor academic performance. At the suggestion of his family, he came to a technical school to study lathe skills for a year. After completing the study, he went out to work alone and began to engage in related work. After working abroad for two years, Wang Dongwei realized that such a life was not a long-term solution, that heavy work did not bring him a corresponding income, and that living in other places was expensive, so he began to come up with the idea of going back to his hometown to start a business. After a period of careful consideration and seeking the consent of his family, he quit his job and went back to his hometown.

Because both parents have experience in raising pigs, with this advantage, Wang Dongwei also began to raise pigs. Under the guidance of his parents, Wang Dongwei's aquaculture industry soon started. "at first, I just tried to do it, but I didn't expect it to get better and better," he said. " At the beginning of raising pigs, there was only one enclosure, covering an area of dozens of square meters. Every day, it needed to feed pigs on time, clean up the pigsty, vaccinate regularly and observe the growth. Although it was hard work, it was his own career after all. Wang Dongwei was full of energy.

On the road of breeding, it has never been plain sailing, and Wang Dongwei has suffered losses during the years of farming. He recalled that one year, the fat pig market was not good. Not only did he not make a profit but also lost tens of thousands of yuan in that crop of pigs. At that time, he was unable to speak because his throat was inflamed. In addition, because the scale of breeding is getting larger and larger, it is becoming more and more painstaking to take care of it. Sometimes when a sow gives birth, he has to stay in the pigsty all night for fear that these money-earning "babies" will go wrong. These things have long become commonplace for today's Wang Dongwei.

In 2013, Wang Dongwei met and married his wife, and after his marriage, he worked harder. Last year, the birth of his daughter promoted Wang Dongwei to become a father, which made Wang Dongwei have a greater sense of responsibility and a better life. "I have to give my wife and daughter a good life." Several tiled houses with clean windows, a spacious and tidy courtyard, and two huge pig houses are the best testimony to Wang Dongwei's journey over the years.

Today, in addition to farming, Wang Dongwei also works as a part-time pig trading agency to help surrounding villagers buy and sell pigs. "I have been raising pigs for a long time and have a wide range of contacts. I happen to be engaged in this line of work, which can not only increase my income, but also help villagers broaden their markets. it's also a meaningful thing. Now I'm doing a good job in pig trading." Wang Dongwei said.
